Visual Artists & Poets Collaborate with ArtSpeak
Sparks fly when different disciplines collide. Visual artists respond to poets and spoken word artists create works based on paintings.
Join us as we discuss the intersection of visual art and poetry. Poets will join us with their works and how they find inspiration in visual art. Ekphrasis: Using Art to Inspire Poetry is a tradition that goes far back in time....The earliest and best known example of ekphrasis is the long description of the shield made by Hephaistos and given to Achilles by his mother Thetis. (The passage is found in Book 18 of the Iliad.)
Our artist/poets witll share their work here tonight. Woo Hoo! -

143-Guerrilla Marketing for the Visual Artist
CAll in a add your Guerrilla marketing ideas to our live show. Guerrilla marketing was originally a strategy in which low-cost, unconventional means (including the use of graffiti, sticker bombing, flyer posting etc.) were used in a localized fashion to draw attention to an idea, product, or service. Today, guerrilla marketing may also include promotion through a network of individuals, groups, or organizations working to popularize a product or idea by use of such strategies as flash mobs, viral marketing campaigns or other internet marketing.

138-Ekphrasis, poetry & visual intersection
Annette Coleman & Marj Hanhe host:
Ekphrasis, poetry & visual intersection
With Boulder Arts Week aproaching and the NoBo Art District hosting spoken word artists on First Friday this radio show will explore the connections that poetry and visual art share.
Ekphrasis, a descriptive work of prose or poetry, a film, or even a photograph may thus highlight through its rhetorical vividness what is happening, or what is shown in, say, any of the visual arts, and in doing so, may enhance the original art and so take on a life of its own through its brilliant description.
