Delivering this impactful message is the esteemed guest minister, Pastor Emmanuel Joshua.
In this message, we confront the reality that there are enemies of progress surrounding us, hindering our path to success.
We explore the following enemies of progress:
Laziness and idleness: Drawing from (Prov. 6:4-11;
1 Tim. 5:6-13; Isaiah 3:10; Prov. 12:11) we understand the importance of diligence and hard work in achieving our goals.
Past achievements: We learn from Philippians
3:13 not to let past successes hold us back but to press forward towards new victories.
Fear of past failure: FEAR is defined as False Evidence Appearing Real. By understanding the nature of fear and drawing courage from God's promises, we can overcome self-pity and regret.
Lack of fellowship with God: Through scriptures like Isaiah 48:16-18, Psalms 127:1 and John 15:5, we realise the vital role of divine involvement in our progress and the importance of maintaining a close relationship with God.
Present trials and challenges: With insights from Isaiah 43:2 and 1 Corinthians 10:13, we learn to navigate through present difficulties with faith, knowing that God is with us every step of the way.
Discouragement: Proverbs 27:10 teaches us the danger of discouragement and the importance of maintaining focus on our goals, trusting in God's promises for our future. We are reminded 'the best way to deal with discouragement is to maintain focus' and 'how you picture your future determines your victory'
