God’s Provision During Desperate Times: Widow of Zarephath: Women of the Old Testament Bible Study
565: God’s Provision During Desperate Times: Widow of Zarephath: Women of the Old Testament Bible Study
In this episode, Rachael explores the story of a nameless widow from the Old Testament who experiences a miraculous provision from God. Despite being in a desperate and hopeless situation, the widow demonstrates faith and obedience, which leads to a supernatural abundance of food and sustenance. This story serves as a contrast to the previous episode's focus on Jezebel and highlights the power of God's intervention in the lives of His people. The widow's story also connects to the New Testament, where Jesus references her story and performs a similar miracle. The key takeaway is the importance of having faith and trust in God, even in the midst of desperate circumstances.

Walking on Egg Shells: Jezebel: Women of the Old Testament Bible Study
564: Walking on Egg Shells: Jezebel: Women of the Old Testament Bible Study
In this episode, Rachael explores the story of Jezebel and her reputation. Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab, was a pagan princess who opposed the worship of Yahweh. She was manipulative, domineering, and exploited people to get what she wanted. Jezebel's name has become synonymous with evil and immorality. Rachael encourages listeners to examine their own reactions when faced with rejection or boundaries and strive to leave a legacy of kindness, love, and faith.

Knowing About God Isn’t The Same as KNOWING God: Queen of Sheba: Women of the Old Testament Bible Study
563: Knowing About God Isn’t The Same as KNOWING God: Queen of Sheba: Women of the Old Testament Bible Study
The story of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon is about seeking wisdom and knowing God. The Queen of Sheba traveled a great distance to test Solomon with hard questions and was overwhelmed by his wisdom. However, knowing about God is not the same as knowing Him. It is surrendering to Him, recognizing our need for Him, and seeking a personal relationship with Him. We don't have to go to great lengths to know God; we have access to Him right where we are. It's about drawing others to God through our lives and surrendering our hearts and lives to Him.

No One Has it All Together: Avoiding the Comparison Trap: Abigail: Women of the Old Testament Bible Study
560: No One Has it All Together: Avoiding the Comparison Trap: Abigail: Women of the Old Testament Bible Study
Abigail's story teaches us that no one has it all together, despite appearances. We should not compare ourselves to others or make assumptions about their lives. Instead, we should be kind and compassionate, as we never know what someone may be going through. Abigail's husband, Nabal, was harsh and mean, and she had to intervene to prevent David from attacking him. Abigail showed wisdom and mercy, and David was moved by her words.
