Pastor Matt continues in our series in the Gospel of John with part two of a message titled "Perfectly Executed". In this text, we see how the Law was used as both leverage, and as legal.

LEVERAGE
Are we trying to control the outcome of certain
situations? Then we are hypocritically playing with fire...
What about this story could be applied to today? Scripture
applied to others in an effort to control them or others is
leverage and an improper use of scripture.
At what point are you willing to go to to make your point or
achieve your point? How about trusting that the Lord is going to take care of
it?

LEGAL
The scribes and pharisees, were experts of the law and no
doubt would have wielded it to their advantage and
condemned this woman if Jesus wasn’t there. What makes
the professionals not so good at their profession all of a
sudden? When the law is applied to a hypocrite. The law doing what
the law does, will reveal the true intents of ones heart, and
there in lies the core of the issue. If we are to apply the law
legally, in our context, it would look like condemnation for
all.

1. Use your reality as a template for your life and then ask the Lord to work outside your capacity and human conditions. (vs. 4)



2. Just because God meets our needs in abundance, doesn’t give us a license to be wasteful. Be accountable. (vs.12)

a. our money, time, and talents.



3. We should work to maintain accountability to our callings, and not let our God allowed successes to lead to non kingdom outcomes. (vs.15)
