Dan Carlin's Hardcore History
In "Hardcore History" journalist and broadcaster Dan Carlin takes his "Martian", unorthodox way of thinking and applies it to the past. Was Alexander the Great as bad a person as Adolf Hitler? What would Apaches with modern weapons be like? Will our modern civilization ever fall like civilizations from past eras? This isn't academic history (and Carlin isn't a historian) but the podcast's unique blend of high drama, masterful narration and Twilight Zone-style twists has entertained millions of listeners.

Visceral and awe-inspiring, Hardcore History is the perfect podcast for fans of history

If you’re like me and you like your history with all the context and the little nitty-gritty splashed with funny, but relevant anecdotes and metaphors, then you’d like Dan Carlin’s way of presenting extremely convoluted but often thought provoking episodes in human history. And while some might find the long running time daunting and exhausting (often 4hrs and above!), I find it actually helps Dan deliver the stories full-on and without omitting large tracts of content and the lack of time constraints allows him to take his time to setup the episodes. Great podcast!
Long but entertaining
