Episode 80: #LMW2016 Musician's Roundtable Thanks for tuning in to 210 Local Media podcast, I am your host, Mario Zamarron. This is how we wanted to kick off Local Music Week; at 502 Bar, doing our first live podcast! Our speakers for the event were Daniel Magallanez (Blackbird Sing), Patric Farrell (Built For The Future), and Edward Welsh (Rumors) and our sound guy for the show was Joey Devine from 502 Bar. The point of the show was to start a discussion, shed some light on local music, and get some attention for local music. We discussed each individuals trials, tribulations, and celebrations they’ve had as local musicians, what some of their experiences have been, and what they think about the situation. We talk about cover prices, the cost of being a musician, venue location, venue sound, the concert goers, and the talent of the band. We also took some time to acknowledge the organizations in San Antonio that are available to local musicians; The Local 782, M.U.S.I.C. Project, San Antonio Local Music Guild, San Antonio Sound Garden, and others who help like Do210, The Owlcast, Vinyl Pizza, Texas Music Spotlight, and 210 Local Media. This is just the first of a series of discussions we plan on having as we work towards our mission of helping the local music scene thrive. We hope you join us on this voyage and invite you to also check out the resulting videos on our YouTube channel, at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC37uudJJ3iTcEnXISjXKSbA I could go on for a very long time about this topic, so if you liked it, please let us know on our Facebook page /210LocalMedia or on Twitter  @210LocalMedia. As always, thanks for listening! If you’d like to donate to our show and help us in our mission to bring San Antonio to the world, you can donate at our Patreon page here: www.patreon.com/210LocalMedia Running the show can be quite expensive, so if we're unable to make any money back from the podcast, we will be closing down after episode 100.
