Walking on Water
1 - Matthew 14:22-36: I have a confession to make: I am a procrastinator. Or at least I have been most of my life. Maybe you can relate. It drove my mom nuts. My teachers. Even my friends. You see, I seldom saw the urgency in the things that were going on around me. I always thought, “It’s no big deal, what’s the hurry?” But when the “thing” had to do with what I wanted or needed, it often couldn’t happen quickly enough. In our passage this week, we encounter a familiar situation, but look at it from a unique perspective: the timing of Jesus’ response. Jesus acted immediately to what was happening to the disciples, their circumstances, their fears and even their failures. And it made a huge difference to them, and to us. Come learn about Jesus’ gracious response to our immediate circumstances. And bring a friend!
