For the past 10 years Art of Élan has been pioneering unique chamber music events and bringing the excitement of classical music to diverse audiences. Created by violinist Kate Hatmaker and flutist Demarre McGill, Art of Élan is continually expanding the scope of classical music in San Diego through innovative, one-hour programming in unique performance venues. This podcast offers in-depth views into the composers and their compositions which Art of Élan is continually presenting to add vigor and excitement to classical music.

Clarinet Quintet by Ljova
Art of Élan is honored to commission a 2nd work by violist and composer Lev 'Ljova' Zhurbin. We'll hear about his father's compositions, the background into Ljova's eclectic style, and upcoming projects. Ljova used to dislike the sound of the clarinet, but now loves the sound of the instrument so much as to write this incredible work.
