The Sanhedrin had already decided to convict him; they just wanted to gather evidence to do it...We would have all along been wishing that Our Lord would stand up for Himself and show them that this whole trial was a mockery, but Jesus remained silent. Why? Because he loves us and he is willing to die for us. His focus is on the cross. Today Let's also put our focus on the cross, especially during this time of holy week.
