Jason Weiser tells stories from myths, legends, and folklore that have shaped cultures throughout history. Some, like the stories of Aladdin, King Arthur, and Hercules are stories you think you know, but with surprising origins. Others are stories you might not have heard, but really should. All the stories are sourced from world folklore, but retold for modern ears. These are stories of wizards, knights, Vikings, dragons, princesses, and kings from the time when the world beyond the map was a dangerous and wonderful place.

It’s why Wed is my favorite day of the week
Besides the excellent writing, interesting mix of topics, and meticulous voice acting +sound design, what I really love is how it makes learning interesting and effortless.
Besides covering the basic mythos, we’re treated to tidbits of history, culture and context in relation to other similar myths. All of this combined makes for a highly entertaining listen that makes you feel smarter without you needing to try.
I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who loves learning about mythology and folklore!
my go-to bedtime stories
i love the writing! the stories are all adapted very well to be engaging, entertaining, and educational. the simple (easily digestible) language lets me get carried away with the imagery, and it helps me sleep on nights when that’s tough. wish i was able to support in bigger ways, i love this podcast!
