Day 110: David and Goliath (2024)

Today we read the epic story of how David defeats Goliath, a giant Philistine warrior. Fr. Mike points out that David's heroic courage in this battle came from David's faithfulness to God and to the small tasks entrusted to him as a shepherd. We learn that when we are faithful and courageous in small matters, we can face the giants in our bigger battles. Today's readings are 1 Samuel 17 and Psalm 12.

    Day 107: Samuel's Speech (2024)

As we continue reading from 1 Samuel, Fr. Mike points out how God gave the people a king like they wanted, even though it was not part of his plan. It Makes my Day Special

When in 2004 we watched the series Our Father Plan, I knew that it would change our community’s way to read the Bible. Then, we bought the Great Adventure video and study materials. It put our heats on fire. Ever since we are grateful for this help that made the Bible alive for us. This podcast, however is even more exiting since we can listen to the entire Bible a bit every day and makes our days different.
It is an experience of the Presence of the Trinity.

Thanks for this precious tool.

WHAT A GIFT!

I completed the BIAY series and “what a gift!”. True to it’s promise, it has changed the way I understand and appreciate Scripture, my faith, and just everything. To Fr. Mike, Jeff Cavins and all those who have and continue to make this podcast, know that you have blessed my life through this. Thank you. God bless “and I cannot wait to see you in the next one.”

What EVERYONE needed

We had catechesis during grade school in the Philippines. I just thank the volunteers like them and I thank Ascension Press for all their hard work and perseverance in pursuing this sea of people who needs God’s grace and mercy.

Fr. Mike would always say “please pray for me”. But I would always forget to do it. I’m sorry. But now, I’m praying that you and your team may live long and virtuous lives and that may you live by example. Millstones. :) It’s a lot of pressure, I know. But that is why I am praying for you. Thank you for your existence. 🥺

May God give you grace and wisdom on what to do for next year because I don’t know if it’s just me but I keep on thinking what will happen to my mornings next year. Coz you know, before Bible In A Year, my mornings and/or afternoons are filled with Ascension Press’ 5-10 min videos. Should I start playing the podcasts of Jeff from the beginning? I mean, I’m listening now but I haven’t listened all yet. Should I just repeat from Day 1? That’s the least I can think of. 😅

More power!
