    Is therapy better than coaching?

    Is therapy better than coaching?

In this episode, we (Josh & Has) first go deep on the check-in, exploring the things we think about and don't often say.
We then dive into the topic of therapy vs coaching, which stemmed from an online conversation that began the previous week. A well known and pretty active on social media founder in the therapeutic space made a claim about coaching not being able to support people to make long term changes in their mental health needs.
We dive into the situation a bit, but also around the topic of therapy and coaching in more detail.
    Not one to miss!

    Is crying good for you?

    Is crying good for you?

It's Men's Health Week, and we go deep into it this week. We bust some fallacies that men don't do emotions (just look at football fans if you don't believe us), and we explore why it is so much harder for some to do it in normal life.
Has talks about his journey with his family, and also his struggle to let go and cry via a discussion around visualisations.
The recent societal narrative has veered us towards zoning in on mental health when we talk about men's health, but we actually dig into the physical side of it - how often do we think about it, does health play on our minds and do we go to the doctors?
A great conversation, even if we do say so ourselves!

Do you ever feel like an imposter?

Do you ever feel like an imposter?

With the recent launch of tyllr for Has and Josh being off grid this week, we have a special re-issue of one of our most popular episodes ever.
Do you have persistent feelings of inadequacy, self-doubt and fears of being exposed as a fraud?
If the answer is yes, then you could one of the many millions of us that suffer with Imposter Syndrome.
According to YOUGOV, 66% of Britons find it difficult to receive praise or compliments from others. Around 57% downplay their achievements and criticise themselves more than others criticise them.
Imposter Syndrome is real and for many people, it prevents them from moving forward in their lives.
In this episode of 115 miles, we go deep on this topic, both from a personal exploration and also how it might show up for others. Josh shares his framework for acknowledging and addressing feeling like an imposter and how to move through it.

    Could you overcome your addictions?

    Could you overcome your addictions?

We recorded this special episode on a very special day - May 14th, which is also Josh's 12 year sobriety anniversary.
As you might imagine, we dedicated our conversation to exploring Josh's journey, but also in doing so, we go deeper into society's relationship with addiction, our own less obvious addictions and the importance of active listening vs advice giving.
We end with some powerful reflections - an exercise we think we'd all benefit from doing regularly.
A big conversation on a big day. We hope you enjoy it.

    Are you ready to die?

    Are you ready to die?

There's no sugarcoating this one...in today's episode, we're talking about 'death'.
Before you switch off your sets, let us (Josh & Has) explain...it's a taboo subject that people are afraid to talk about. We dig into why that is, as well as our personal views on life, mortality and death.
We discuss regrets, how the best time is now and how to tell important people that we love them.
We might say this often, but we think this could be one of our best discussions yet!
Death ain't an easy topic to discuss or think about...it's about to get uncomfortable.

Russ Cook is super human, but can you be?

Russ Cook is super human, but can you be?

On this episode, we dive into superhuman feats and whether we can all do them, or the exceptional few that are born with special powers. We discussed, Russ Cook, who recently ran the length of Africa in 352 days. Nicknamed 'Hardest geezer', he had several moments during the journey where mere mortals would have turned around and gone home, but he pushed through and 'ground' it out.
In our conversation, we ask if society no longer favours discomfort, hard work or the 'hustle'. It's a tricky, nuanced discussion that sees us get tangled up with each other a few times.
We hope you're sitting comfortably...this one is about to get about to get uncomfortable!
