The promise is just God's way of telling us what he is going to do in our lives. The oath is God's way of announcing that he is ready to fulfill the promise in your life.

You must first answer the call from Jesus when he gives you a promise before he can perform the promises. After the promise comes a walk of faith. In between the promise and the oath is the gap of preparation. It is in the gap of preparation we begin to find the power of God operating in our lives.
