Last Night A Rave Saved My Life Nico Beastwang

We had Badger down a couple weeks ago for a live show and it was a super last minute decision to record this podcast as our first show back after 3 years. 

Badger is a music producer and DJ from Brighton who has seen a rising success in recent years due to his stand out music in the UKG/BASS world and working out how to grow his brand on social media. 

He has an official remix with Vengaboys that went viral this Summer and had releases on record labels such as Night Bass, 1 Forty and our own Label Wang Records. 

We get to chat about all of this plus how he manages his day to day life and how he got into underground music.

Following the first podcast to a introduction of myself, trainee DR, Frankie Fan wanted to go through challenges faced when starting events to today. We spoke about being a perfectionist, finding what makes you happy, music bringing people together, gratitude and a whole heap loads more.   

Andy Josty has been a ticket rep for Beastwang over the past 4 years as a student. 

As he comes to graduate and end his final year, we talk about his journey as a rep and his battle against lockdown. 

8 Years ago when I started my venture in events in Leicester, Jake was also doing the same in Huddersfield. 

We've never met or spoke but watched each other grow in our cities to what we have today. 

Jake built his event brand into a venue and music business offering a whole heap of services. We speak about his journey and the challenges faced when trying to build a scene from the bottom up. 

In this first episode I dissect key moments in my life to see what has led me to be a entrepreneur and delve into the dance music scene. 



From being the only South Asian in my primary school on a white working class council estate, living in homeless shelters, mental health and being involved with a youth project in my teenage years.



This episode serves as an extension from the introduction of the podcast to give a brief overview of myself.



I understand this episode can be quite heavy in terms of my experiences.



Though felt like it was important to touch on these as a introduction to give you a indication of why I have the drive to do what I do. 



The reason why I feel so comfortable speaking about it is because it is so far away from where I am now. Almost like I am telling someone else's story. 



To help me understand these key moments and talk about certain topics, I have invited Brian Quinn. 



Brian was a youth worker I met at the age of 12 in school and has been a pivotal role model and mentor to me since then.
