The Truth About Change
May 3, 2020, Pastor Michael Dascoli
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!
Revelation 21:5a
Question: “When are you ever going to change?”
Myth: “I should be able to change overnight”
“…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed
away; behold, all things have become new. 2Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
(ref. 1Corinthians 15:52-53, John 3:17, Romans 8:1)
“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to
Completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6
THE PROCESS OF CHANGE
Phase 1: CONCERN (ref. Isaiah 6:5)
Concern: it makes us feel uncomfortable
Phase 2: CRISIS
Crisis: it makes us feel Intense Pain (ref. 2Corinthians 7:10a NLT)
Phase 3: CHOICE (ref. 2Corinthians 7:10a NLT
Choice: it makes us feel afraid
The Main Choice: “All Eyes on Jesus” (ref. Colossians 2:6b-7, Hebrews 12:1b-2)
Challenge: memorize Philippians 1:6:
“He who began a good work in you will carry it
on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Pray: What is God saying to you?
How must you respond?
