    Gaetano offers a wide range of holistic and body-based practices through his company Healing Movements. With his work he facilitates and space-holds for people in the process of self-discovery and healing. By fostering self-awareness and empowerment he helps them gain control and understanding of their own bodies in its entirety so prevent dis-ease and support them in finding a vibrant way of being human.

Bobbi Lo Produktion creates engaging and immersive performances for children and youth. Lava and Michael share their empowering approach to their work with children. The talk about the interactivity of their work, and the challenging topics they choose to highlight, such as abuse of power.
    This episode also dives deeper into Lava and Michaels lates production 'This is Not a Religion'. A collaboration with Skånes Dansteater fall 2023, with Tiemen in the cast.  A piece that deals with the phenomenon of cults and their enigmatic leaders and creates space for the complex duality between the collective and the individual.

    Episode 43: Örjan Andersson – Tradition and Ritual

    Internationally acclaimed Swedish choreographer Örjan Andersson sits down with host Tiemen Stemerding on the day before the premiere of the re-staging of Mozart’s Requiem. A collaboration between Skånes Dansteater, Malmö Opera Chorus and Malmö Opera Orchestra performing with over 50 people on Malmö Opera’s big stage. The work originally premiered in 2019, with Tiemen as one of the dancers.

    They uncover Örjan’s creative processes and talk about the strong relationship between music and dance. About form, rhythm and flow. Örjan shares his experience of staging large scale works involving dancers, musicians, and actors. He also talks about the will to create work that communicate with the audience.

    Finnish choreographer Johanna Nuutinen joins host Samuel Denton for a conversation about revisiting the piece ‘Zero-Zero’ with a new cast. What is it like for her to be confronted with something she previously made? Is it an opportunity to relive, reconsider and revise original intentions?
    Johanna also shares memorable moments from her hugely successful performance career as a dancer, and the value and principals that she has used to carve out her choreographic voice. She talks about her multidisciplinary collaborations with her own company Johanna Nuutinen +Collaborators in Helsinki, and how to establish creative boundaries.

    Meet choreographers Danae & Dionysios in this live episode of Dance Pod with Skånes Dansteater. An artist talk about choreography, dance, activism and the new creation ‘In Wind or Dust’ hosted by our dancer Tiemen Stemerding and project manager Celine Orman.

    Danae & Dionysios are choreographers and dancers from Greece, as well as artistic directors of Small Axe dance company. Based in Athens, Greece they have been creating work together since 2015.
    Danae and Dionysios draw inspiration from nature, animals and indigenous civilizations sharing their thoughts and concerns about the environment and life on our planet. Their canvas is raw and robust and with abstract brushes they encourage a perfect balance.          
    Their new creation ‘In Wind or Dust' premiered at Skånes Dansteater February 29, 2024.

    Episode 40: Liam Francis – Artistic Gremlins

    Choreographer Liam Francis joins host Kit Brown for a conversation about his background in hip-hop and how he has approached that in the context of contemporary dance. Liam talks about his transition from dancing to choreographing, and about his particular vision for a kind of person-centred leadership in the dance studio.
    We talked to Liam on the morning of the premiere of his work ‘Going Steady’. A playful exposé into the relationships and courting rituals of humans and animals made for Skånes Dansteater. In the piece, five dancers make their way through exciting beginnings, sad endings and everything in between, accompanied by a sprinkling of summer jazz.
    Liam won the Skånes Dansteater Production Prize in 2022 at RIDCC – Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition. The prize resulted in this commission.
