Announcing the next guest of The Carspotcast: it’s @will.i.drive! Also known as @will.drive, Will came down all the way from Edinburgh to be a guest on the podcast. Oh well, he came to visit his dad, as he’s half Dutch, and happened to make some time for me! Having only recently joined the carspotter community, Will and I have known each other since 2019, at the very start of @parkedindutchstreets. To have him on the podcast was truly a delight, as he’s quite a versatile car lover too! We talked about his love for Volvo, Joep died on the floor laughing when Will told the story of his #LalaLaguna, and we did a Car Search for the best European Road Trip Cruiser for €8.000.

In this new episode of the Carspotcast, Joep invites his friend Daniel to the podcast. Daniel is a true citizen of the world, but is deeply rooted in Mozambique, and decided to come to the Netherlands for a study in automotive engineering. Daniel tells me about the cars that his family owns in Mozambique and the car he drives in the Netherlands. We talk about Daniel's carspotting account @carsofarnhem, how we're both car omnivores and what the ultimate car is for having a midlife crisis, which is also our car search for this episode. Don't expect too much of a serious conversation though: the combination of Daniel & Joep made for a lot of corny and stupid jokes. Enjoy!

"Hello Europe!” is what we’re saying from the 6th of May onwards, as #Eurotrashweek has become a tradition for car spotters to lighten up Eurovision week with all the Eurotrash cars. A much heard question is “What are Eurotrash cars?”, and to those I say: you simply get it or do not get it. Anyways… a description would be: all European cars that are not known as good cars. In this episode, the Eurotrash Council opens #Eurotrashweek by talking about their favorite #eurotrash. These will be split up in categories separated by categories: Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Rest of Europe. In each of these categories, the members of the Eurotrash Council bring their favorite Eurotrash cars from these countries. After their plea, they bring out their twelve points/douze points/twaalf punten to the Eurotrash car of the category they like best! Welcome to another new episode of the Carspotcast! The guest of this episode illustrated that you can make a very decent living of tuning Saabs: it's Dion Hillebrink. The Dutch Saab community will recognize this name as no other - the man also known as DionHPT. Dion is a talented chip tuner and has made many Saab owners much happier with their cars. However, Dion's tuning is available to any car with a turbo - as long as it is in good health. Dion welcomed me at his workplace, AutoFirst Saab Apeldoorn, to talk about his life, his profession and, of course, cars. Dion told me how DionHPT was born, we both searched for a 'Tunable Turbo' for €10.000, and we talked about a shared passion for a very specific Italian luxury sedan... Enjoy!

As a friend of the show, Maurice knew what was waiting for him, so he made sure he was very prepared.
