3: The Art Perfumes formerly known as Niche
In the third episode of The Basenotes Podcast our panel discuss the idea of “niche” in perfumery – can we define what is, and what isn’t niche? We also smell the Bacon Candle mentioned in Ep. 1, talk about Frazzles (again), and whether Callum would use it as a ‘bedroom candle’. Plus The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

2: Sad and fleeting, but beautiful
In the second Basenotes podcast, our panel discuss the idea of sending smells digitally, and the uses and problems that may arise. Would the ability to send a smell be useful? If a scent can be recorded digitally, and resniffed at will, would it lose some of its beauty?

Fun
Chanel's "A Thousand Lemons" shoe perfume has me rolling on the floor.
Entertaining with an expert perspective
I recently stumbled across the Basenotes website and I’ve been extremely impressed by their fragrance expertise. It’s nice to see that their knowledge carries over to the podcast. I also like the roundtable discussion format - these guys and gals clearly know their stuff and they have fun sharing it.
My only gripe is the sound quality - it’s hard to make out what they’re saying sometimes (I record the Beauty Brains podcast so I know how hard it is to get good recording quality!) Keep up the great work!
