S7 E1 – How AI Can Bridge The Gap Between Our Lifespan And Healthspan

S7 E1 – How AI Can Bridge The Gap Between Our Lifespan And Healthspan

According to the latest research, life expectancy has risen dramatically, increasing 26 years since the mid-20th century. However our healthspan (healthy years free of disease) has not followed suit. There is a significant gap between our lifespan and healthspan driven by the pandemic of chronic diseases afflicting a growing aging population.

The current overburdened and reactive health care system is compounding this lag in quality of life, where health risks linger for years and are detected late. The age-old quest for healthy longevity begins with predictive healthcare. And while AI may seem a bit scary to us GenXers, its potential could prove very helpful when it comes to analyzing biomarkers on healthspan and longevity.

Jim Kean CEO of Molecular You, is a pioneering senior tech executive with a focus on innovative, disruptive, consumer-oriented health and wellness digital experiences. The consistent theme: creating user delight, loyalty, and retention while fundamentally re-engineering the cost of delivery. He founded WellnessFx and played a significant role in online health communities as President of Sapient Health Network, which later merged with WebMD.

Join Lauren and Jim as they examine: how we can feel more at ease with AI; how AI can help with our healthcare; how IA is it being used right now; how AI can help bridge the gap between healthspan and longevity; how AI’s role is shifting from reactive healthcare to proactive healthcare; how Molecular You assess an individual's distinct blood profile to anticipate potential health risks and catch chronic diseases early; how blood test results should be used; success stories using AI in healthcare and so much more.

If we are living to be centenarians, wouldn't those extra years be better if we were to age well and not just age?

S6 E15 The Importance Of Skin Cycling With Dr. Simran Sethi

S6 E15 The Importance Of Skin Cycling With Dr. Simran Sethi

Skin cycling? What is that? And is it really important as we age? In a nutshell, skin cycling is taking a cyclical approach to your facial skincare routine by using specific products on different days to regenerate the skin and improves skin quality. It's actually not that difficult but needs some explaining. And once you understand it, you will want to approach your skincare this way.

Dr. Simran Sethi has practiced Internal Medicine for over 16 years. Not only is she a doctor, she also has her MBA from Wharton. Her background as an internist has given her a strong foundation in understanding the essentials in achieving and maintaining optimal health from the inside out. Dr. Sethi's mission with RenewMD and her skin by Dr. Simran Sethi line is to empower women who have struggled with the right skincare products and treatments for skin and to celebrate their complexion rather than working against it.

Please join Lauren and Dr. Sethi as they discuss: skin cycling and why it's a hot topic lately; how one skin cycles; why skin cycling is important for middle-aged skin; what skin fasting is and how it differs form skin cycling; how you can tell what is causing irritation and inflammation; how her skin by Dr. Simran Sethi line is different; and so much more.

S6 E14 Discussing The Tween Anti-Aging Skincare Phenomenon with Flyte.70

S6 E14 Discussing The Tween Anti-Aging Skincare Phenomenon with Flyte.70

Did you know that girls as young as 10 are walking into Sephora and buying anti-aging skincare products that are meant for our skin? "Why?" you might ask. Because they have seen their peers unboxing and using them on TikTok. So now it's trendy to buy Drunk Elephant Bronzing Drops with peptides for $34 or Dior Lip Glow Oil for $40 or even Summer Fridays Midnight Ritual Retinol Renewal Serum for $69! Yes, tweens are putting anti-aging retinols and Vitamin C's and other acids on their face because it's trendy and aspirational, but it's also hurting their skin.

Why are we as middle aged women told to embrace aging and yet teens fear it? How did we get here?

Elena Frankel and Carolyn Barber are the founders of Flyte.70, a beauty brand that focuses on grown-up skin. They believe life is about embracing, not fighting, change and that we are as youthful as we feel...not by the numbers on our birthday cake. They understand that no matter how many layers of full-coverage concealer or contour sticks we apply, we won’t magically transform into our 20-year-old selves and that we need to be okay with that.

Join Lauren, Elena and Carolyn as they discuss: what lead to this irrational fear of aging; if TikTok or parents are driving the bus; who is paying for this expensive skincare and why; how stores might deal with this (if they can) and calm the dopamine needs of our tweens and teens; how we can talk some sense into teenage girls to not buy into the hype; how teens are ruining their skin; ingredients teens needs to stay away from, and so much more.

My Face is Falling and I Can’t Get Up

I listened to the podcast. It was great. I learned a lot-EXCEPT pricing. I really wanted some price ranges. Also, a podcast on how to find a good plastic surgeon where you live would be helpful.

Keep up the good work!

Excellent

Great advice, easy to follow. Quick podcast that kept me engaged. Good to know that I'm not alone in sleep issues. Given the 3 - 3 - 3 Idea, looks like I don't have apnea or iknsomnia. But as far as the cell phone is concerned - - GUILTY!
