TYF230 – Myths VS Facts, telling our truths – Part 2
Erin and “Professor” Matt Murphy return for the second part of their talk about the importance of myths, storytelling, and how we internalize and reproduce these tales as a culture. Many differences are drawn between the sorts of myths produced by “Western” cultures, and those of the Hindus, and we get to see a difference in the way those ancient peoples saw the universe around them, and their part in that universe.
And what does it mean when stories have a quest, and further: what does it mean when we personally have a quest, just like those same stories we cherish?
Matt also mentions a very personal example of a sort of art-and-writing coaching project he once carried out with a dear friend, making pragmatic use of many ideas discussed in the podcast. What can you do when you take control of the storytelling? And how can you find your way back to your quest? Tune in for more.

Very helpful
Love this podcast
Authentic and informative allowing you to own your change.
I absolutely love listening to Erin’s podcast and also taking her beach yoga classes. We all have scars and those hidden wounds are the toughest to unearth and discard. I totally recommend Erin’s podcast for anyone seeking an anchor in the time of a storm.
A Gentle Guide to Showing up Authentically
I love this podcast. If you’re looking for a gentle, yet powerful take on radical self healing and recovery, look no further. Erin’s whole approach is down to earth and irreverently authentic.
Listening to this podcast seriously feels like chatting with an old friend. It’s a cozy place to land, when emotions, mistakes, or to-do lists leave you feeling drained. Erin transforms life’s darkness and chaos into meaningful lessons. I can’t get enough. Just when I think I’ve done the work, something pops up, and Erin guides me through it, again and again.
Erin shows up honestly in her podcasts-- sharing the vulnerable parts of her story, so we can all learn and heal. Her words are gentle, but POWERFUL. She’s been a guiding light in learning to process emotions. I’ve learned how to examine self-destructive behavior, break down emotional blocks, and realize where I need to relax and give up control.
Erin’s content resonates with me on so many levels. When I first found this podcast, 3 years ago, I had just imploded my personal life. I was searching for tools, to guide me through rebuilding a life, that previously centered around codependency and numbing. I needed someone to show me, the power in showing up without dulling myself. She’s taught me so much about unpacking and befriending shame, emotions we store in our body, and in the dark corners of our soul. She’s shown me that there is perfection in imperfect vulnerability, scars, truth, and action. Erin has helped me heal.
Erin’s a renegade yogi, who doesn’t care about your boxes, rules, or expectations. She’s leading an authenticity revolution, that all starts with taming your own chaos. Erin, I can tell how much of yourself you pour into this podcast. Thank you again for doing the work and sharing
