Leading When It Hurts with Ita Udoaka

Any person who leads, whether in your family, a child, or an entire organization, you will run into siutations that result in pain. Leaders must lead through difficult and often painful circumstances. In addition, Followers will criticize your decisions without knowing all the information. Some will accuse you of misconduct. Others will reveal their lack of trust. Leaders feel the sting of sin in unique ways. Yet leaders must endure. How do we maintain a consistency of decision making and perseverance when leading is painful?

How do you lead your team to achieve the results you need without sacrificing people along the way? Ever have questions about hard, soft or even toxic leadership styles? Or maybe you struggle knowing when to be hard and when to be soft? I enjoyed diving into this topic with Ita Udoaka, a gifted leader both at work and at Frontline. We're in a series on leadership as men and as followers of Jesus.

Coming up, we'll continue with episodes 3 and 4 of this series on leadership looking at diverse teams and leading when it hurts. If you have questions or feedback, or maybe you'd like to ask Ita a specific leadership question: send us a message at men@frontlinecommunity.org.

Forged for a Purpose - Leadership #1 Identity with Ita Udoaka

Forged for a Purpose - Leadership #1 Identity with Ita Udoaka

Men's Ministry Podcast is launching its second season starting with a series on Leadership. We get to hear the leadership insights from Ita Udoaka a seasoned leader in both church and non-church contexts. He has wisdom to share with us so we've laid out several episodes to better equip us from the leadership experience he's gained.

This first episode looks at the identity of a leader, especially as a person who rejects passivity. So much of our moments of failing to speak up or act come because it's an easy button. We avoid responsibility and culpability by doing or saying nothing. But God has called men to step up and lead out to love others as themselves.

Hope for Another's Salvation with Jay Clayton

Hope for Another's Salvation with Jay Clayton

After a long break, our men's podcast is back with a testimony about God's power to save. If you are a follower of Jesus, you probably have people in your life you feel concerned about because they do not believe in Jesus. As one who believes that there is a heaven and hell after death and your destination depends on faith in Jesus, you may pray for and worry about those you love and those you don't love. This conversation is a powerful story of God working in the last moments of a life to lead them to Christ.

If you have feedback, prayer requests, questions, or just want to get in touch with us, reach out to Chris or Jay by emailing men@frontlinecommunity.org.

Military Spouse and the Impact of Fathering: With Brant Gilkison

Military Spouse and the Impact of Fathering: With Brant Gilkison

This is a special conversation with Brant Gilkison a military spouse in the KMCC and the opportunities he has to invest in his two sons. He points us to awesome ways that we can take intentional steps of impact for kids. If you are a dad, this episode will challenge you to invest in your children. If you are not a dad, this episode will give you tips in helping shape future generations you may have the opportunity to serve. If you have feedback or questions, reach out at men@frontlinecommunity.org.

    Questions for thought:
    1. How can you intentionally invest in a child, a son/daughter, niece/nephew, etc?
    2. Who is a person who modelled investing in future generations well to you?
    3. Brant talks about showing up in just a small way for a child. What's a small way you could do that too?
