Short science stories, and updates more frequently than 60 Second Science from the Scientific American network

Had to quit. Annoying ads.

Short version: 45 seconds of sponsor content per 90 second episode? Nope. >>>>> Details: This lovely little 90 second brain blurb has been a fav of mine since it first started playing on my local NPR station years and years and years ago. Sadly, I’ve found myself deleting new episodes from my feed, unheard, for the past few months. Why? Obnoxiously intrusive sponsor content. Please understand: I absolutely do not begrudge content producers finding ways to fund their material. HOWEVER… being forced to hear promotions at both the beginning AND end of an ultra-micro-cast that is only 1.5 minutes long? That. Is. Grating. The fact that the total run time of those promotions is 45 seconds or more—equal to 50% of the actual episode’s run time!—is just a big, flat out F.U to your listeners. More and more, I’ve been dumping podcasts with abusive approaches to ads. Super sad that this one has joined the trash heap.

Ads are WAY to long

Used to love this podcast but now it is not worth my time. Each podcast episode is ~ 60 sec. Ads lately have been 3 min; 3 times longer than episode. This is ridiculous. KPCC stop using this podcast as an Ad platform. Stop trying to encourage me to listen to some sociopolitical saga of a podcast, I just want to listen to Loh’s upbeat and punny take on the latest science.
