Hardly Boys Book Club

Only Justin and Tyler could cook up a concept podcast so hilarious. They perfectly maintain the balance of taking the subject matter, children’s literature, seriously at times and then comedically when the moment’s right. Every segment brings its own value to the show and transitions are such to keep the listener interested. I find myself laughing out loud in solitude multiple times each episode. Stop what you’re doing now and listen to the Hardly Boys’ Book Club!

I am the oldest of four siblings, so children's books were still being read in my house well into my teenage years. The Hardly Boys book club do a great job of praising and/or ripping into many of the books I was surrounded by as I grew up. Children's books are generally quite strange and fascinating things, so I'm glad someone is finally talking about them.

This book club isn't like any book club I've heard before. Club president Justin Westover, the club-member-of-many-titles Tyler Hendrix, and a third temporary club member read children's books and then review them from a unique perspective. With a mixture of nostalgia, humor, and good ol' fashioned cynicism the Hardly Boys take you on a fun journey through the children's section of the library.
