As the dust settles on our sixth Public Health Consulting and Entrepreneurship expo, our incredible host, Dr. Charlotte Hughes Huntley walks us through everything that transpired at the 2023 installment.
Dr. Huntley and her team worked tirelessly and planned meticulously to ensure the success of this year’s expo, with specific attention placed on creating a phenomenal experience.
We used a new platform for this year’s online workshop and it was a definite winner, and more people were excited about the weekly giveaways than they had been in previous years. Evaluation, Epidemiology, and Community, With Weather Potdevin, MPH
The Tribal Epidemiology Centers are doing great work for Native Americans. Today’s guest, Weather Potdevin, is lending her hand to the cause as the Senior Director of Community Health Services at America’s largest tribal health organization, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC), which is one of the twelve Tribal Epidemiology Centers nationwide.
We hear about Weather’s background and her journey through ANTHC, before she explains how she became interested in public health. She also discusses the projects she is currently involved in across departments at ANTHC.

The guest on today’s episode is Michelle Bangen, a public health consultant who received a bit of inspiration to get started in consulting from attending one of our past Public Health Consulting and Entrepreneurship Expos. She’s a public health professional and certified health education specialist with a focus on gender-based violence and suicide prevention.
Michelle, alongside her friend Charlette Lumby, co-founded a public health education and consulting company called Incite Agency for Change. As you tune in to this week’s episode, you’ll hear from Michelle about what sparked her interest in the field of public health and where her heart lies within her field.

Community And Connection In Public Health, With Stephanie Moxley
Stephanie Moxley is a public health consultant who conducts community health needs assessments for hospitals and health departments across the United States.
Today, she is the Founder and CEO of Moxley Public Health Consulting, but her career in public health began two decades ago as a health educator and program coordinator focused on HIV/STD prevention at the GO GIRL! Program in Bronx, New York. Since then, Stephanie has committed her career to health promotion, addressing public health disparities and inequities, and working to improve the health of both rural and urban communities.
Ingrained in Stephanie’s work is her love for collaboration, which not only improves the health and lives of the people she works with but makes her work more fun too! In this episode, we take a look at her fascinating journey into consulting, who her ideal client is, and what a community needs assessment entails. We also discuss her evidence-based, data-driven practices and how her understanding of public health and epidemiology has enabled her to have a greater impact, plus so much more!
