Tale of Two Buffalo Sabres Teams

Tale of Two Buffalo Sabres Teams

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by a returning Joe Yerdon for their weekly Tuesday chat, today focused on the Buffalo Sabre slim playoff hopes all but dead following a shootout loss to Montreal and controversy surrounding Ilya Lyubuskhin not partaking in Pride Night in addition to some Bills/NFL talk.
Lyubushkin didn’t wear the rainbow pride jersey for Monday’s warmup before their game against Montreal, citing anti-gay laws in the Kremlin and fear of retribution. Joe has plenty to say that as well as an absolutely crushing home shootout loss to the bottom feeding Canadiens.
The guys also talk about Lamar Jackson requesting a trade from that Baltimore Ravens and why Joe’s favorite team, the Detroit Lions could be a good fit. That plus a check-in on Joe’s thoughts with the Bills offseason so far and plenty more.

    Imperial Live Series, Matt Parrino

    Imperial Live Series, Matt Parrino

It’s another Imperial Live Series episode on Talking Buffalo, this time with Patrick Moran joined by Buffalo Bills beat reporter Matt Parrino for a conversation about the Buffalo Bills and plenty more that was streamed live from Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo.
The guys devoured some BBQ style wings---both loganberry and honey mustard and have plenty to same about them, including the consistency that makes places like Imperial Pizza one of the best in all of Western New York. They also spend some time talking about if they’ve ever second guessed moving back to Buffalo after spending several years relocated in other parts of the country.
Of course the conversation ultimately leads to Buffalo and there’s a lot discussed, including the possibility of the Bills trading for DeAndre Hopkins, what may happen with Ed Oliver, the Bills needing to change their identity from the past few years, the AFC East potentially becoming a bloodbath will all four teams good and much more.
Thank you again to Imperial Pizza (1035 Abbott) for hosting this live series and providing killer wings and pizza!

Buffalo Bills Mock Draft (Version 1.0)

Buffalo Bills Mock Draft (Version 1.0)

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, it’s officially the start of mock draft season and Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for the first of what will be six weekly Buffalo Bills mock draft leading up to the real thing in late April.
After a week of free agency the Bills have made a handful of moves but other than re-signing Jordan Poyer, perhaps none that would alter Brandon Beane’s strategy at the top of the draft. As a result the Bills could go several different ways with the first pick and the guys discuss several possibilities, including weighing the all-important best player vs. biggest need dilemma.
Over the course of Buffalo’s six picks the guys land on a linebacker, offensive tackle, tight end, edge rusher, interior defensive lineman and safety. Pro Football Focus doesn’t think much of our first mock, giving Patrick and Aaron a C grade. What do you think?

Three Biggest Buffalo Bills Early Free Agency Takeaways

Three Biggest Buffalo Bills Early Free Agency Takeaways

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran’s back in Florida (this time just visiting) and records an early morning podcast from the hotel, centered around thoughts of the free agency moves the Buffalo Bills have made so far and his three biggest Bills-related takeaways.
Buffalo’s two biggest moves to this point involve their own veterans --- re-signing Jordan Poyer and losing Tremaine Edmunds to the Chicago Bears. They’ve added an offensive guard, wide receiver and quarterback through free agency and Patrick offers plenty of thoughts on all of them as well as what he thinks Brandon Beane’s vision is for this team in 2023 and going forward.
Patrick also makes a pitch on behalf of Beane to free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The “Live from Imperial” series will resume next week with episodes every Friday, next featuring Bills beat reporter Matt Parrino. Of course, you can catch episodes featuring Joe Yerdon every Tuesday and Aaron Quinn on Wednesdays.

Aaron Quinn Talks Bills/NFL Free Agency Madness

Aaron Quinn Talks Bills/NFL Free Agency Madness

On today’s Talking Buffalo, Patrick Moran is joined by Aaron Quinn (Cover 1) for their weekly chat, this time around focused heavily on the wild first few days of “legal tampering” free agency around the NFL, including the Buffalo Bills.
As of this recording the biggest news involving the Bills was losing linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to the Chicago Bears. Aaron has plenty of thoughts on Tremaine involving his team with the team, play on the field and contract he got in Chicago. They also discuss the addition of guard Connor McGovern and some of the low-key free agents they’ve retained through this point.
The guys also talk about some of the big happenings around the league, including a few big trades on Tuesday involving Dallas and the New York Giants as well as other big signings, never ending Aaron Rodgers drama and plenty more.

Tremaine Edmunds Era Is Over, What's Next For Buffalo?

Tremaine Edmunds Era Is Over, What's Next For Buffalo?

On this episode of Talking Buffalo, Monday was an eventful day for the Buffalo Bills and the NFL as the legal tampering period that precedes free agency began. Patrick Moran is joined by Joe from Queens to discuss some of the more notable moves, including the Bills losing their start middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds to the Chicago Bears.
The Bills were hoping to find a way to retain Edmunds but that went out the window by 4:00pm Monday when reports circulated that Edmunds agreed to a four-year, $72 million deal with $50 million guaranteed with Chicago. The guys have plenty of thoughts on the situation including if he's worth that kind of money and is Brandon Beane dropped the ball by not locking Edmunds up a year or two earlier. Regardless of how you feel about Edmunds it's a hard look for a team to take a guy in the first round, develop him into a Pro Bowler and then watch him leave without a second contract.
The Bills did do some acquiring and retaining on Monday, picking up former Dallas offensive guard Connor McGovern to likely replace Roger Saffold. Buffalo also made investments in retaining special teams guys, including Sam Martin, Tyler Matekovich and Cam Lewis.
The guys also talk about some of the major moves around the league, including Jimmy G landing with Vegas, an offensive tackle cashing in with Kansas City and a pair of Bengals safeties finding new homes.

FARTSTAIN!!!!

This show is great…usually, but when mathews fartstain is the guest… get ready for the worlds most boring hour of narcissism and a side of hockey and a sprinkle of bills content by this new england chowder loving bore. You might hear 5 min of “insight” about the bills but only after 20 minutes of hockey crap sandwiched between 30 minutes about the craptastic fartburn himself. Thanks for ruining the show w this 30 year old who sounds 59, f u farstain!!!! And stop saying “buuuuuuuut” ten times a podcast. Dork.
