Review of 'One Day All This Will Be Yours' by Adrian Tchaikovsky
tl;dr: 'One Day All This Will Be Yours' is a wickedly funny and inventive look at time travel.
The novella's protagonist is the sole survivor of The War to End All Wars. That epithet seems unlikely given how many wars the world has seen, with each conflict being named so. But in this case, it might actually be true, since the weapons used are time travel devices.

Review of 'Gideon the Ninth' by Tamsyn Muir
tl;dr: 'Gideon the Ninth' is innovative, but poor pacing, rough prose, and inconsistent mood, ruin the experience.
'Gideon', the titular character, is a bonded servant of the Ninth House of Necromancy, in a galaxy far away, in some leprous future. She wants to be rid of the House and strike out on her own. The Emperor invites Harrowhark, the heiress of the House, to take part in a series of trials. Harrowhark's current cavalier can't cut it, and so, Gideon gets pressed into service.

tl;dr: Benedict Patrick delivers yet again, with a wonderfully weird and touching story, in the Yarnsworld universe.

Review of 'The Flames of Vengeance' by Evan Winter
'The Fires of Vengeance' is the sequel to 'The Rage of Dragons'. The book is well written with a break-neck pace, but it suffers from 'sequel-i-tis'.
