If you’ve ever wanted to ponder strange scenarios about video games and comic books then boy howdy is this podcast for you! Even after 4 years of listening, I continue to be excited about the content that is debated on this show and the wild takes presented here as answers. Plus, their Flavor Text series puts in the work for a deep dive on a topic so you don’t have to!
I can’t stress how beneficial for everyone who isn’t Todd, it will be if....
you read through this reivew to see how hillarious these guys are. I heard about this podcast while they debating if DVD players could be considered a video game console at the Portland Retro Gaming Con. I have been devouring this faster than a Castlevania Wall Chicken and have joined the #buttthwompnation.
Each episode is one of the guys modding the arguments the other three bring to the table about a nerdy random topic. What game would you turn into a dating sim? What video game food would Bobby Flay serve?
Or in Flavor Texts - they dive deep into a singular topic and really explore the topic. It ranges from Pokemania to sexual identities in comic books.
The sass and knowledge the hosts have on the show is hilarious to listen to. Some topics I don’t personally know, but in-between the quips, you can learn a bit about different games, topics and trends. By far, my favorite episode is the forged in fire. If you’re unsure where to start, you can start ANYWHERE or ask for the starter pack- thanks Matt for putting that together!
These guys are hilarious and constantly bring their A-game to every episode! Pay special attention to the “Flavor Text” episodes - they do a great job breaking down nerdy topics and making them very accessible to your average listener. Subscribe and you won’t regret it!
If you like to talk ‘bout video games. If comic books can make you smile. If you like to play DnD, with guys named Todd, Matt, Andrew, and Kyle. Have they got a show for you!
The debate this boys specialize in two things: deep diving the lore on topics their fans request, which usually feel like a great video essay you listen to with 3 friends making jokes or asking questions about while you listen, AND making the best debates about the stupidest topics imaginable. Like a car crash, you can’t look away.
Guy Fieri, Rami Malek, and David Schwimmer walk into K.K. Slider’s dive jazz bar. What’s the punchline? I don’t know. They don’t know. But Andrew probably wrote a script for the two hour conversation they share about how they all got roped into the Debate This! Studios Cinematic Universe. I present you…Debate This!
Top tier nerdy joy. My only criticism is that this podcast doesn’t help me decide what toothbrush, mattress, hiring website, or glass-based photo printing service to use and I am lost without this guidance.
Great show!
