Less Dani in Dani’s Listening

I like hearing the stories but don’t want to hear what Dani has to say about them, which is essentially the same every time.

Love this podcast!

I love this podcast! Thank you Dani for your authenticity. And to your guests for sharing. Nice to know we all have “secrets”
Agreed the adds can be annoying, I believe that’s what the skip button is for. I’ve sharpened my skills on whipping out my phone and judging how many times to hit it! So worth it for the fabulous stories. And besides, Dani needs to make a living too. After all, it’s FREE!

Downhill with Each Episode

Some of the stories are fascinating. As the seasons continue, however, the host seems to be reaching for more and more obscure “secrets” just to fill an episode. Many are not really secrets at all.

Additionally, Dani’s commentary is repetitive and pedestrian. She offers opinions and puts words into the mouths of her guests that frequently seem inauthentic. There are many experiences of secrets that are not “shame” yet that’s the theme of all episodes. Every. Single. Episode. Hearing about the host’s Big Secret in every episode is tedious in the extreme. Pushing her book in every episode is worse.

Finally, the sound quality of the guest equipment is so awful in selected episodes that they words are barely understandable.
