    Connections – Mysterium – S1E8

People have experiences that are hard to explain all the time. But when do they actually reveal a deeper meaning? The game Mysterium plays with the idea of messages from the beyond—something its co-designer, Oleksandr Nevskiy, has reasons for thinking about. And Kathy Kelly, owner of The Paranormal Museum, pulls back the curtain on her approach to the unexplained. Some believe; some don’t.

    Liberté – Guillotine – S1E6

Guillotine is a very silly game about a very somber subject. It’s hard to take it seriously… but that doesn’t mean we can’t try. In this episode, we talk with history professor Dr. Jennifer J. Popiel about some fascinating events of the French Revolution and the lessons it can offer us today, and designer Paul Peterson tells us about how his first original design came together.

They say nothing goes according to plan. That was true of the dozens of assassination plots against Adolf Hitler while he led Nazi Germany during the 1930s and 1940s. We talk with history writer Nikola Budanovich, who walks us through three real-life plots against Hitler. Fascinating deep dive into the reality behind the theme

Three episodes in and I've loved every one. The hosts personally research and experience the theme behind popular boardgames. Fortunately they don't blame games for not being realistic but rather look at how things are similar and, to some extent, how the games play. My new favorite boardgame podcast.

Place of Miracles - Viticulture - S1E1

Over the period of a couple of years I have burned through a lot of tabletop game oriented material. The ‘Immersed’ podcast does not fit into the type of Game Design subject matter that I prefer but it’s quality and uniqueness will keep me listening to observe how it’s format evolves. Certainly ‘Immersed’ is a podcast worthy of the Cardboard Edison moniker!

Incredibly impressed w/ immersed

I listen to 10 or so different podcasts about gaming each week and I have to say that I’m super excited about this one. The production quality and writing is top notch ... like NPR levels. Wow!! If this show was a player in a game it would be so leveled up that no one else would have a chance to win. Fortunately, the gaming community is in cooperative mode and we’ve got ‘Immersed’ on our team. Thanks so much for producing such great content. I can’t wait to hear what you come up with next :)
