111: Praying Through Difficult Times with Suzanne Eller
"Prayer looks different for each one of us..."
When it comes to prayer, It isn't the method that matters as much as connecting with God. In this episode of The Living Room, Suzie Eller talks about her latest book, Prayer Starters: Talking With God About Hard Times. Whether you've enjoyed a vibrant prayer life or don't know where to begin, Suzie offers tips on how to get honest with God despite what we might be feeling.
For when we pour out our hearts to Him, He pours in the grace and peace we so desperately need. But more importantly, our relationship with Him deepens. All because we've taken time to connect with Him in prayer.

109: Knowing (and Enjoying!) God with Jenny Randle
So when you hear the word “theology,” what comes to mind?
Does it inspire mental images of dusty libraries filled with massive books about God? Perhaps it makes you thing of grey-haired scholars using big, multi-syllabled words as they tryt to describe the Almighty?
Well, I believe my conversation with Jenny Randle is going to change all that! The best type of theology doesn't leave a mental fog - instead, it helps us gain a greater understand of who God really is. Rather than bringing God down to our level, theology opens our hearts and elevates our minds so we come up to His.
Our discussion about Jenny's new book, Flash Theology is anything but dry, my friend! It’s downright fire!

Our conversation covers so much ground, you guys! From the importance of silence and gratitude to our deep need to shed our shame so God can give us a new story. This is a powerful episode! I hope you'll share it with a friend.

107: Navigating Hard Questions (and Not-So-Great Christians!) with Mary Jo Sharp
Do you feel inadequate when it comes to answering hard questions of faith?
In this episode of The Living Room, I have the privilege of interviewing theology professor and author, Mary Jo Sharp about Dark Room Faith - a video curriculum designed to address the objections many young people have about the Christian faith. This free curriculum can be used by youth leaders but also parents to help them talk through the questions teens often face.
But we also talk about how many millenials are leaving the faith because of hypocrisy in the church and her book, Why I Still Believe: A Former Atheist's Reckoning with the Bad Reptutation Christians Give a Good God. I hope you'll check out all of Mary Jo's excellent material - and share this episode with a friend.

Embracing Trust Challenge - Also on YouTube!
I have so enjoyed hearing from people who are doing the Embracing Trust Challenge! And it's not too late to start because it can be done anytime and anywhere.
All five days of the challenge have been uploaded to YouTube - but you definitely want to sign up to receive the FREE worksheets and daily emails before you start. Resist the impulse to watch all five days at once, because the best way to get the most out of the challenge, is to live in each truth for awhile.
In fact, you may want to do it over five weeks rather than five days! Because each one of the truths from Proverbs 3:5-6 have the power to transform your life.
