Ultimately, her life ended at the tender age of 21, and she bears the title of being the last witch burned in the United States. The festival was created to celebrate her life and to mourn her untimely, and grisly death.
You'll meet Lady V, High Priestess of Louisville, watch the Sisters of the Dancing Moon perform the German witch dance called Wolfshager Hexenbrut, see the adult costume contest, and listen to Kay Hamilton, descendent of Leah and Kentucky author who wrote the definitive book on her ancestor, Burned As A Witch: The Legend of Leah Smock. Such a cool look at history

Love the untold stories in this podcast. Question: where do you access the newspapers from the 1850s? Online? Public Library?

Weird connections

S.B ya’ll need to get in touch with Expanded Perspectives you will probably end up being besties with Cam and Kyle.

Like others, found S.B through Jim’s podcast. And when I listened to that episode I had been considering a move to Lexington for a while. And after listening to S.B and her friends that is even more of a possibility.

S.B always comes off as genuine, and she’s funny as heck. Would love a YouTube channel of S.B and hubby exploring the spots they talk about. I know how difficult a channel can be so it’s understandable if it doesn’t happen. Still dreaming though.
