TIFF concluded, Venice has long ago handed out it's Lions and Cups, and most of the CIKI crew is back at home. We get together to go over the big winners of the 2 awardsy Fall Fests (congrats to POOR THINGS and AMERICAN FICTION), break down the balance of our TIFF slates, and generally gas on about the state of theatrical distribution and managing online inventory for ticketed events in a fair way.

Cannes Blockbusters are not the only unjuried film festival slate in the world. So having exhausted this avenue, we turn to New York Film Festival, famously uncompetitive, to inject a little competition and conflict into their whole affair. The slate? Films that played in the opening slot of NYFF in the new millennium so far. Returning to join us as President of our Jury? The great DAVID SIMS of BLANK CHECK with Griffin and David. Together we figure out what it is About Schmidt, how to split the David Fincher of it all, and how we can only give one award to Carnage. All this and some general chat about the shape of TIFF and NYFF this year.
