I'm asking people what they were obsessed with as kids. A lot of kids fixate on something, a movie, or game, or book, or whatever. I'm asking friends to revisit the things they couldn’t put down, and trying to figure out what they mean to them now.

Watching Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights with Zachary
Okay
This is a song that uh
There's a lot of Christmas songs out there and uh
not too many Hanukkah songs
So uh
I wrote a song for all those nice little Jewish kids
who don't get to hear any Hanukkah songs
Here we go
Put on your yarmulke
Here comes Hanukkah
So much funukah
To celebrate Hanukkah
Hanukkah is the festival of lights
Instead of one day of presents, we have eight crazy nights
When you feel like the only kid in town without a Christmas tree
Here's a list of people who are Jewish just like you and me
David Lee Roth lights the menorah
So do James Caan, Kirk Douglas, and the late Dinah Shore-ah
Guess who eats together at the Carnegie Deli
Bowser from Sha Na Na and Arthur Fonzerelli
Paul Newman's half Jewish, Goldie Hawn's half too
Put them together, what a fine lookin' Jew
You don't need "Deck The Halls" or "Jingle Bell Rock"
'Cause you can spin a dreidel with Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock- both Jewish
Put on your yarmulke
It's time for Hanukkah
The owner of the Seattle Supersonicahs
Celebrates Hanukkah
O.J. Simpson, not a Jew
But guess who is? Hall of famer Rod Carew- he converted
We got Ann Landers and her sister Dear Abby
Harrison Ford's a quarter Jewish- not too shabby
Some people think that Ebenezer Scrooge is
Well he's not, but guess who is
All three Stooges
So many Jews are in showbiz
Tom Cruise isn't, but I heard his agent is
Tell your friend Veronica
It's time to celebrate Hanukkah
I hope I get a harmonicah
Oh this lovely, lovely Hanukkah
So drink your gin and tonicah
And smoke your marijuanikah
If you really, really wannakah
Have a happy, happy, happy, happy Hanukkah
Happy Hanukkah -
Reading Stargirl with Becca
The Manic Pixie Dream Girl is a type of female character often depicted as a whimsical, quirky, sometimes eccentric, fantasy woman who saves the male protagonist from himself. She usually aides in his transformation without ever showing any real agency of her own.

I love hearing about things other people love 💕
Hearing people talk (both gleefully and, when applicable, with a loving but critical eye) about their obsessions, no matter the age, brings me so much happiness, and my mood brightens every time I see a new episode has dropped. I also love how many forgotten childhood memories I have unlocked via the discussions here - new listeners, I guarantee there will be at least one episode covering a topic you’d forgotten you consumed in your youth, and if you are like me, you WILL yell about it.
Thank you to Percia, and every wonderful guest, for sharing the things that shaped you. This has become a cast I recommend frequently!
Not just nostalgia!
11 Again is a fascinating look into why we latch onto certain media as kids. Percia is a superb interviewer and she does a great job of guiding her guests toward interesting insights into their personal connections with the subject. Getting to revisit these nostalgic shows, books, etc. is just the cherry on top.
Wonderful look back on Childhood
I came across this show as a plug on the other show on this network. Percia is a great host and her wonderful guests help her explore why we liked things as a child and what they mean now. They avoid navel gazing nostalgia and fawning over things but are never mean or dismissive. Have already recommended it to friends and will continue to do so. Keep it up!
