Welcome to Sleepover Cinema, where we analyze the films that created the collective unconscious of the girls and gays of the late 90s and early 2000s. Hosted by sister filmmaking duo Hannah and Audrey Leach, also known as Too Pink Productions, Sleepover Cinema is an exploration of the movies that first inspired their love for film aimed at answering the question… are these movies actually good? And at the end of the day, do we really care if they are?

    GBF ft. Our GBFs

    GBF ft. Our GBFs

Oh, to be a GBF in 2013… a deeply unsavory task, according to this movie. Unsurprisingly, Hannah and Audrey both had beloved GBFs in high school, and this week we’re bringing them in to talk all things coming out, their high school lives, and all the cringe that came along with it.

    Princess Protection Program

    Princess Protection Program

Exploiting a seemingly toxic “friendship” that supported a multi-million dollar media empire, “Princess Protection Program” brought together two icons of the late 2000s Disney Channel era. Is it even a good movie though? You probably know the answer already.

    Raise Your Voice

    Raise Your Voice

In this Christian-flavored coming-of-age story, Terri (Hilary Duff) has a voice that guarantees a highly successful life in the musical spotlight… or at least we’re supposed to believe that. Trauma from a 3 Days Grace concert, ambient sax solos, and egregiously mediocre singing await!

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Introducing an entire generation to the Rocky Horror Picture Show and the romanticization of their own suffering, “Perks” shows us that you can be hot, intelligent, and interesting and somehow still live on “the island of misfit toys.” A hugely meaningful movie to many, we try to tread lightly.

    Stuck in the Suburbs

SNL’s Taran Killam as a tortured pop star with a missing cell phone? Brenda Song in a parade of eclectic outfits? Pathological lies between best gal pals? All essential parts of this week’s DCOM selection.

Underrated

A great retrospective look into the films that shaped a generation, for better or for worse. They bring the research and objective facts to contextualize the films that makes you appreciate aspects of the films more. They also bring great personalities, and the sister dynamic compounds to the movies' nostalgic factor. Love this podcast so much, keep doing y'all's thing

lindseypowell ,

The nostalgia is real.

These girls put in THE WORK, not only do they share their love for these movies but they bring the facts to every episode. They list everything there is to know and love about these movies and I’m obsessed. Highly recommend.
