Ep.109 Your Feminine Energy with Salome Phiri
A lot of people associate feminine energy with weakness. Therefore try to distance themselves from femininity. You may feel like being soft will not get what you want or being soft makes you an easy target to be mistreated or physically abused. So we take on more male characteristics and discard the feminine because we feel it does not serve us.
This conversation between Salome and Chulu digs deeper into feminine energy and how it can be of benefit to women in particular.
********************************************************
Salome is a social entrepreneur, speaker and passionate advocate for women’s empowerment who is committed to inspiring women to become change agents and leaders in their communities. She is the founder of Woman Up Africa (formerly African Woman Redefined), a social enterprise that creates a unique space for women to develop themselves both personally and professionally. Ep.108 Single Mama Power with Ngombo Chansa Isaacs
As we kick off Women's Month we are talking about Single Mums. I am a single mum. my mother was a single mum. I know so many people around me who found themselves being single mums most often unintentionally.
A few years ago it was frowned upon and spoken about in hushed voices. Today there are women who choose to be single mums. However, it came about I think we still do not talk about it enough.
Today I explore the topic with Ngombo and touch a little on post partum depression.

Hi my name is Ngombo aka The Afro Doula. I am a Zambian born woman, a Mother, a daughter, a sister & a wife. I love wild swimming, adventure, sisterhood, preparing and eating delicious food, margarita cocktails, creativity, raving in the house & feeling alive! I am a multifaceted, iridescent being with many layers & many gifts to share! I was called to become a Doula back in 2019 as I was healing from 2 long years of postpartum depression. I knew then that in order for me to thrive the most important thing was to keep a remembrance activated within myself around how incredibly important, powerful and sacred the carrying, birthing, nourishing and nurturing of new life truly is. I also knew then, that the darkness I'd been through could be alchemised into something magical & so I made it my business to help reignite this flame of remembrance in other Mums who were finding Motherhood difficult.

Smart and inspiring conversations
It’s great to listen to these honest and smart conversations that celebrate and explore what we can learn from our past, how to deal with the present and how to confront the future. The lens is an experience of an African woman but lessons are most certainly universal.
