Shri Kunal Kumar is the Joint Secretary and Mission Director, Smart Cities Mission at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Government of India. In this episode of 'Understanding the Future of Enabling Climate Actions in Cities', with Shri Kunal Kumar, we discuss the role of different stakeholders in developing sustainable cities.
In this episode, we start the conversation by understanding how cities can develop in a sustainable manner and explore the role of municipal corporations and SPVs in urban development. We further explore MoHUA’s role in COP26 and how can cities leverage ClimateSmart Cities Assessment Framework (CSCAF). Additionally, he helps understand how alliance partners and climate practitioners can support in grounding climate actions. Further, we discuss how cities can make use of innovation in progressing on CSCAF. At last, he helps understand the skill sets required to systematically enable climate actions on the ground.
