Hired: Talent VP on Job Interviews, Negotiation & Offers

This podcast has been a game changer for me. I was having a hard time getting past the phone screen, which is when I realized I needed to do some learning to change my interview prep, this podcast has been a one stop shop for that. While I haven’t gotten a job yet, I’m finally getting a lot more success in getting additional interviews, which is really helping my confidence and making me feel better about the job search process as a whole. Matthew, thank you so much for your help! A couple of tech related questions for you. 1) it seems that older episodes (prior to 2024) will no longer play on any podcast app or website I can find, but based on the titles there are some that I’d like to listen to, is that possible? 2) it looks like all links to your website are broken, was it taken down? If so, is there a place to find some of the content that you reference in some of your episodes? Thanks again! - TK

Listened to a couple episodes before an executive interview as a refresh. Great reminder, as I haven’t had an interview in many years. Pretty sure it’s going to go well, but I like the ideas and suggestions. Thanks for the added confidence and tools.

I passionately recommend this podcast. Every episode contains a couple of nuggets of gold. In particular, episodes describing specifically how to answer interview questions by putting the employer’s needs at the center of the answer were immensely useful. I listened over and over, and crafted my answers for subsequent interviews based on absorbing the examples in Matthew’s podcasts. Not only did I land the job I was seeking, but I travelled pretty far down the path on two other opportunities. This information is so useful that I will continue to listen to the podcast, even though I’m no longer in between jobs. Thanks Matthew!

I started listening to this last night and ended up going through five or six episodes in a row. There’s genuinely useful guidance here for people at every stage of their career. For those just starting out, there are practical, precise tips on everything from showing up on time for in-person interviews to avoiding the unexpected issues that can derail video interviews. For people farther along in their careers, there’s an incredible interview with a career coach who works with billionaires and CEOs, along with interview guidance that’s simple but surprisingly overlooked, things like body language, communication style, and a strategic approach to the interview process that I honestly had never considered before. Highly recommend listening if you’re navigating a job search, career transition, or just trying to improve professionally.
