Amazing
I picked up a postcard for this podcast at The Festival of Oddities recently. I’m so glad I did. Thanks for sharing your story.
Glad to Listen
Kory was my English teacher in the 7th grade back in 2011. She taught English to a precocious group of kids - we had taken the SATs in the 6th grade to get into her class. Her calm demeanor, bursts of genuine excitement for our budding literary minds, and unwavering commitment to reading every word we wrote shaped me deeply. It came up that her parents were divorced and her family dynamics were not particularly pleasant. She told us she wrote both poetry and essays, but that they were not age appropriate. She told me life was a marathon, not a sprint, and my young ego rejected this advice at the time but it has stuck with me and proven useful since.
This podcast was stunning in its revelations and beautifully composed. It moved me deeply. Mrs. Shrum, I hope you’re well. I’ll be listening to A Well Cared for Human and taking life at a marathon pace.
Good
Nice work girl
