    BURN OUT WITH CAROLINE DOONER

    BURN OUT WITH CAROLINE DOONER

In this episode Clemmie explores burn out with writer, humourist, ex-professional actress & singer Caroline Dooner, who wrote the The F*ck It Diet, all about her relationship with food and dieting, and Tired as F*ck, all about her "exhaustion & two years of rest".
Ten years ago Caroline started writing a blog called The F**k It Diet as she tried to heal her relationship with food, and learn about the dark side of dieting. What she learned about food and weight changed her life. If you struggle with your relationship with food, the The F*ck It Diet is for you.
In 2016, four years after she healed her relationship with food, she realised she was exhausted, burnt out, and...filled with existential dread. Her second book, Tired as F*ck, is about how she got back on her feet and her "years being a neurotic little b*tch". Read the beginning here!

GUT HEALTH WITH THE MAC TWINS

GUT HEALTH WITH THE MAC TWINS

In this episode Clemmie talks gut health, microbiomes and the biology of twins with Lisa and Alana Macfarlane (aka DJs The Mac Twins), who set up The Gut Stuff website to empower gut health in everyone after taking part in a piece of ground breaking research.
Lisa and Alana had tried every fad diet under the sun, including the cabbage soup diet pre-Magaluf 2005 (remember that?) and grew up in Scotland eating deep-fried pizza and chips That all changed when they volunteered to be part of the TwinsUK research at King’s College London. Twins are a great constant for medical research, and they became the ‘chief guinea pigs’ for the British Gut Project. They discovered that despite twins having 100% of the same DNA, their guts shared only 30–40% of the same microbiota (head to intro to the gut for more on the basics!), which could explain why all of our bodies behave so differently.
Check out Lisa and Alana on Instagram @themactwins and The Gut Stuff @thegutstuff. And visit Home - The Gut Stuff for more info on how you can improve your gut health.
The episode is made in partnership with Bimuno.
Biumuno Daily is a unique, high in fibre prebiotic supplement that has been proven to need and stimulate the growth of good bacteria in the gut.
It doesn’t stop there. I am also running a competition to win an entire year’s worth of Bimuno Daily. What a brilliant way to support your digestive and generally take a positive step towards looking after your wellbeing. Head to here to find out more.

    SPIKING WITH MAIR HOWELLS

    SPIKING WITH MAIR HOWELLS

In this episode Clemmie explores spiking with Mair Howells, who founded @ivebeenspiked - a safe space for victims who have been spiked to share their stories, seek support and demand action. Mair started the platform in March of 2020, shortly after she had her drink spiked (in February 2020). She is now one of the leading activists fighting for change in the current state of drink spiking in the UK, and in the more general field of violence against women and girls.
Mair is also the host and producer of ‘Pricks’ podcast which explores the spiking epidemic and looks to get under the skin of the problem.
How big is the problem? According to The Alcohol Trust, 1 in 10 young people have been spiked. And in a 2021 The Tab survey, it was found that of 23,000 students, 2.5 thousand had been spiked. Across five episodes, Pricks unpicks the big topics surrounding spiking, from why only 8% of victims report instances of spiking, to the psychology of predators, the night time industry, the role of the government, and the extent to which spiking is part of a wider issue of violence against women.

    HAPPINESS WITH WILL YOUNG

    HAPPINESS WITH WILL YOUNG

This week Clemmie explores happiness, or maybe contentment....or should that be joy? Either way, her guest is one of her mum's faves, and two-time Brit award winner Will Young.
Will shot to fame in 2002 after winning the first series of Pop Idol. He has released seven albums, four of which hit Number One in the UK charts, and he has 10 million record sales and two Brit Awards to his name.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Will is a leading voice in mental-health awareness. His highly acclaimed book 'To be a Gay Man' explored mental-health awareness, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community with a focus on gay shame. He has a podcast - ‘The Wellbeing Lab’ - where he interviews experts on different mental health topics each week, AND his second book ‘Be Yourself Only Happier’ is released imminently.
In this episode Clemmie finds out what makes Will happy and what steps he's taken in his life to ensure he stays that way. Plus they do not talk about dry stone walling.

    DISCONNECTION WITH EMMA GANNON

    DISCONNECTION WITH EMMA GANNON

This week Clemmie tackles the topic of disconnection with Sunday Times bestselling author, speaker, novelist and host of the No. 1 careers podcast in the UK, Ctrl Alt Delete, Emma Gannon.
Clemmie and Emma discuss how two years of lockdowns, Zoom meetings and reduced physical contact have made us more dependent on the internet than ever before. But has it lost its humanity?
Emma's new book, (Dis)connected, examines how our focus on community and real connection has been sent off-course and how we're becoming more aware of how the algorithm manipulates us and how our data has made us a product to be sold.
So, where do we go from here and how can we get back on track? Listen to this episode to find out!
Emma's first book, The Multi-Hyphen Method, a manifesto for crafting a career on your own terms, became an immediate Sunday Times business bestseller. After the book's publication, she was selected in the 2018 Forbes 30 under 30 list, Management Today's '35 Under 35, and The Telegraph's 'Millennials To Watch'. To date she has published three works of non-fiction and her debut novel, Olive.
Her WEBBY-nominated podcast Ctrl, Alt, Delete is a non-traditional careers podcast founded in 2016.
