    The Fire Card

Thank you to all zee loyal listeners. The first year is in the books. In this “surprise” episode, we announce the winners of the two jerseys - a special thanks to all who donated to Zee Soccer Fund. More than $1500 came together to help kick childhood cancer. Fabi played the Fire card to get his girlfriend a Visa for Germany. Meanwhile Jules, aka Matthew McConaughey, is getting ready to be the best thanksgiving host for his wife’s family. The Fire have a new unofficial head coach, which is discussed in this episode as well. Find out what other offseason plans the two MLS players have, and why Fabi will show up with a mask for preseason 2022. Happy thanksgiving. Happy holidays. Happy new year. We’ll be back soon.

    Bent & Broken

    Bent & Broken

Zee final episode of the year has us talking about the finish of the regular season in MLS. Fabi clarifies how the boycott in Chicago wasn’t really a boycott while Julian tries to explain why DC United missed the playoffs by one point. We will both start our off-season now, but we had to give our end of season MLS awards along with our Best 11s before going on numerous trips throughout the next few months. We also wrap things up with Zee Soccer Fund, giving the final tally and where we intend to donate the money to. We encourage everybody to join us in donating to a great cause!
Thank you for all the support throughout the year, it’s been a lot of fun and we intend to be back next year for some more content from your favorite Germans in MLS!

DC’s playoff hopes shrink as they couldn’t get a result vs The Crew. Fire losing 1:0 at Yankee Stadium. Winners of the week are NYCFC who are taking care of business at the end stages of the season. Thunderbuddies

    Thunderbuddies

Thunderbuddies Freddy & Julian are joined by Fabi to talk about the horrible week for DC United and the very good week for the Chicago Fire. Yankee Stadium once again wasn’t nice to DC and Jules walks us through their big loss against NYCFC. Fabi on the other hand collected 6 out of 6 this past week and might have a couple reasons for why all of a sudden the Fire are playing better.
We debate about the vaccination status of Joshua Kimmich and how Germany compares to the US in regard to the COVID vaccine. Also, since they released some more salary data we ask ourselves if a salary cap structure would work in the Bundesliga or Europe as a whole. We certainly have some ideas.
At last, congratulations to the New England Revolution on winning the Supporters Shield!

    Who Needs Assists?

    Who Needs Assists?

Last week, the Chicago Fire relieved their head coach of his duties, strangely after a rare win. Fabi reacts to the news and tells us how he found out, how the locker room reacted, and what is next for the Fire.

In DC, Jules finally scored his first goal of the season and backed it up by scoring another the next game. They won one and lost one and are staying right in the tight playoff race.
It was a good week for Zee Soccer Fund and Bayern also lost, keeping the Bundesliga quite tight at the top. Also, we support you NWSL players!!

Great pod that’s not always about the game

This is a great pod. It’s really interesting to hear two top professionals discuss the beautiful game from their perspective but what’s even more interesting is their discussions about stuff outside the game. We forget that our sports heroes are people too with lives outside the game. It’s very cool to have a little window into that and they’re both very candid about the goings ons in their respective personal lives. It allows fans to feel more of that connection. Gressel will always have a home in the hearts of the 17’s here in the A.

Love the podcast

Julian was such an amazing player and citizen of Atlanta and made MLS so amazing in my hometown. DC United was my favorite team 25 years ago, but now I have to cheer for them too.

I didn’t know of Fabian before, but I’m enjoying learning about him. So sorry Fabian tore up his knee in pre-season and hates talking about the recovery, but the hard work and feelings are something any soccer player can relate to.

Keep up Zee good work guys!
