Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys have overtaken IBM to become the second and third most valuable IT services brands in the world, in the annual Brand Finance survey. Only Accenture remains ahead, retaining its top spot for the fourth consecutive year. Infosys made strong gains, jumping from 214 in 2021’s global rankings to 158 in 2022, which also put it among the 25 fastest growing brands of 2022.

A fall in IBM’s value, following the spinoff of the Kyndryl unit, also helped the Indian IT companies claim higher rankings.

Accenture has retained the sector’s most valuable brand title for the fourth consecutive year, with its brand value increasing by 39 percent over the past year to $36.2 billion. Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, the tech giant’s brand value has seen a 43 percent increase—standing out from among other brands in the US, according to Brand Finance’s press release.

Tata Consultancy Services has risen to 2nd position in the Brand Finance IT Services 25 2022 ranking, behind Accenture, following a 12 percent growth year on year and 24 percent since 2020 to a brand value of $16.8 billion.

TCS has not only successfully managed the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic to continue developing its business operations around the world but also maintained momentum with brand partnerships and sports sponsorships, Brand Finance said in its press release.

Infosys has seen the fastest increase in brand value from among all the IT brands in the ranking this year. Infosys’s brand value has increased by 52 percent to $12.8 billion from last year, and 80 percent over the past two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Brand Finance.

Infosys’s strong business results can be attributed to the brand’s ability to credibly adapt its services to the fast-evolving needs of today’s economy as well as to its continued investment into innovative solutions that help clients securely accelerate their journey to the cloud.

Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran is the lone Indian among the top 25 global brand custodians as ranked by Brand Finance for 2022 in its Brand Guardianship Index. He is also the top CEO in India. Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella is the number one CEO on the Index.

There are six Indian brands in the Brand Finance IT Services 25 2022 ranking among the top 10 fastest-growing IT Services brands throughout 2020-2022. Following TCS and Infosys, are Wipro (7th), HCL (8th), Tech Mahindra (15th), and LTI (22nd).

Overall, Apple remains the number one global brand in 2022, followed by Amazon, Google and Microsoft. Walmart is the lone non-tech brand in the top five global brands. Facebook is ranked 7th, and TikTok is the fastest growing global brand.
