After that diagnosis, how many times have you said... I just want my old life back! We never asked for this diagnosis to happen. And then we don’t talk enough about what it’s like to grieve our former lives. To grieve that fabulous person we used to be.
This week is my birthday and breast cancer survivorversary. It’s always a time of reflection for me as I begin another trip around the sun. That reflection always includes my former life and there’s a lot of yearning for the past, and for my past self.
