    In this podcast episode we talk to James Yarker, Artistic Director at Stan's Café about their fantastic new play, full of live music and wit -  'Community Service'.

    James talks about the inception of Stan's Café, now in its 34th year of making theatre and explains the concept of devising theatre and how it differs from traditional theatre.

    He also talks about how Community Service began and the life of Trevor Prince.

    Community Service is currently on tour at the following venues:

    30 APR - 1 MAY at the New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich
    2 - 3 MAY at the Derby Theatre

    In this podcast episode we chat with Jack Parker  (Marketing Officer at the New Wolsey Theatre) who has  driven this wonderful  campaign from an idea to a reality.

    He explains, that with the help of our audiences and anyone who would like to get involved, that we’re aiming to give 800 free tickets to children and adults who may otherwise not be able to experience the magic of panto this year.

    Our award-winning pantomime this year is SLEEPING BEAUTY - a full on Rock n Roll panto packed with live rock and pop music, crazy characters and hysterical antics -  audiences of all ages will be totally enchanted with this a time-leaping adventure.

    Whether it’s £1, £10, £20 or any other amount - every generous contribution will help us to reach the 800 free tickets - and our audiences are already responding  with their generosity -  and here's how you can also get involved . . .

    Vikki Stone, British award-winning comedian, actor and musician, joins us to chat about how she wrote the New Wolsey Theatre's 2023/24 Rock 'n' Roll panto, Dick Whittington and his Cat!

    Vikki talks about the form of panto, including the beats and the joy of mixing tradition with contemporary. She also gives us an insight into how she prepares before she writes, and shares her absolute love of Rock 'n' Roll panto!

    We also ask her 'how do you know what you write is funny?' - listen out for her great answer!
