City Cast Philly is the daily news podcast about the city you love (and maybe sometimes hate?) and the Philadelphians who are working hard every day to make this place better. Each weekday morning, host Trenae Nuri will chat with people all across Philly’s diverse neighborhoods about issues that matter to you. Whether that’s what do I even do on the weekends in this city with endless options, or how do I get the bus to actually stop, or how is this city going to keep our kids safe and educated? City Cast Philly is here for it all. It’s that energetic, informative conversation you might overhear at your neighborhood coffee shop. But with City Cast Philly, you’re always welcome to join in.

Customer Reviews
At Last
don’t know how it’s taken me this long to discover this, but it’s exactly what I’ve been seeking for years: short, daily, Philly-focused news podcast. High production value, great diversity of guests, casual but knowledgeable host. Highly recommend. 10/10
Interesting local stuff but….
The host doesn’t seem to know as much about Philly as you’d expect. Thinks there isn’t any music in Rittenhouse Square (there is, every day), didn’t know Philly is considered the most Parisian city in America, didn’t know restaurants had to meet extremely strict regulations to keep their streeteries open…does she even read the Inquirer? Definitely listen for the guests, but the host, who seems like a nice person, isn’t very well informed.
Solid show covering current, relative local issues
I appreciate this podcast focused on Philly through brief but detailed main story with a few minor notes at the end. I appreciate the host’s unique take and easy going interview style. My only issue is that some stories feature one voice or POV too heavily, which can sometimes creat imbalance. For example, the early episode on FDR park was entirely focused on the few folks really pushing in opposition and criticism, without a balanced perspective on the history of that process. Enjoyed recent episode w Inga Saffron about accessibility on our sidewalks. Keep it up!
