    1. Accessibility in UX Design

Welcome to the “UX Design in the Deep End” podcast, this is Chuck LoCascio.   One of the reasons why I’ve been successful in UX design is being able to dive deep into complex subjects. These conversations go deep. With this podcast one of my goals is to explore new depths in conversations with inspirational UX Designers in the field.   Today we are here to talk about Accessibility in UX Design. This is our first podcast episode and what a great topic to start with. I’d like to begin by saying that accessible design makes for better design. It is more inclusive, good for business and is much more usable for very large sets of people.   More often than not, when speaking to other designers on this topic, I’ll usually hear something like, “The fonts and colors pass accessibility.” Although this is a great start, there is a whole world here that goes far beyond that.   Today, I am excited to introduce Kyle Esguerra. Kyle is a Product/UX Designer at iShares by BlackRock coming up on 4 years in September? I see on your linkedin profile subline you have your title as UX / Product Design & Accessibility? Very cool, I like that beard by the way! So I have had the good fortune of working with you at iShares, and man did we have some good days in the office partnering together, solving UX challenges for the end user, and delivering on accessibility.      Hosted by Ausha. UX in Conversational AI

Welcome to the “UX Design in the Deep End” podcast, this is Chuck LoCascio.   Chuck here, what does it mean to create a user experience for a conversational AI that is more than just a simple Q&A, FAQ look up tool? How often have you heard, “Sorry I didn't understand, please try again.” Please try again, please try again.   How many of you have been trapped in a call tree before? When you press zero, which we all do, the set of options are repeated with no way out but to hang up the call. How frustrating is that user experience? What if you could interact with a conversational AI the same way you would interact with a human? And what considerations need to be made in order to make that possible?   With me today is Mohamad Nasr-Azadani, who is a principal data scientist at Accenture Labs. Mohamad has a postdoctoral degree from UC Santa Barbara on gravitational currents occurring in the submarine and atmospheric environments.   In your own words Mohamad, I recall you saying you became a champion of UX after working together? Which is something that is really special to hear. When we talk about this subject, I think one of the key “Aha moments” that you uncovered is really this vast delta between UX Designers and Data Scientists, and in some business organizations there aren’t many opportunities to work together. This is before ChatGPT days, Mohamad and I worked together on AI Chat Solutions in 2019.   For those new designers listening I hope there are some key takeaways in how (UX Designers and Data Scientists) can collaborate to create truly meaningful experiences for the end user.      Hosted by Ausha. Zero to One UX Product Creation

Welcome to the “UX Design in the Deep End” podcast, this is Chuck LoCascio.   What does it take to bring a product to market? The journey of 0 to 1 product creation isn’t without its ups and downs. The highs are very high, and the lows can be very low. This roller coaster ride may be what keeps passionate entrepreneurs and founders in it for the long haul to build something truly special for the end user.   My guest today is Kapil Kanugo, he is currently leading AI at Accenture. Kapil has been responsible for delivering pioneering technology solutions to revolutionize how our Fortune 500 clients run their business. Kapil received his masters in Computer Engineering from Stonybrook university, and graduated from Stanford University with a focus on entrepreneurship and business planning. You are also a 40 under 40 is that right?   Kapil, you were my first technology manager that I reported to at Accenture that truly shaped my broader philosophy on design and technology. I thank you for that, and I thank you for including me in so many technology sessions, you never told me I wasn’t smart enough for a conversation in a room, and I always felt empowered to stay engaged and ask questions.   That sort of environment you established allowed me to explore areas conceptually that pushed boundaries with the support of a strong technology team behind me. I am honored to call you my friend and have you on the show.      Hosted by Ausha. See ausha.co/privacy-policy for more information.
