    Today we meet with Gina Yeager-Buckley to talk about how the Pentecost Offering supports Presbyterian youth and Presbyterian Youth Triennium event.
    Gina Yeager-Buckley serves as the national staff manager for the Office of Presbyterian Youth and Triennium. Her work in youth ministry and Christian Formation has included teaching, speaking, writing, event planning and coaching. She has served congregations, nonprofits and currently serves in the Presbyterian Mission Agency. Gina lives and works in her adopted and loved hometown of Louisville, Kentucky and loves spending time with her husband, Andrew and their two housemates (aka cats) Dolly and Porter.

    YAV Program with Destini Hodges

    Today Destini Hodges joins us to share about how gifts from the Pentecost Offering support the Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) program. Read more about Destini in her bio.
    Destini is a Ruling Elder at Capital Presbyterian Church of Carlisle Presbytery. She graduated from Penn State with a B.A. in Political Science and a master’s degree in Community and Economic Development. She is also a seminarian at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Destini is currently a Commissioner for the Synod of the Trinity and previously served the church as a member of the Advocacy Committee for Women’s Concerns (ACWC).

    The Intersections of Disaster Assistance, Ending Hunger, and Self-Development of People

    Disaster assistance, ending hunger, and self-development of people are all connect and often overlap. Today we take some time to explore and understand the intersectionality of these issues all supported by the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering as we hear from Laurie Kraus.
    The Rev. Dr. Laurie Ann Kraus serves in the national offices of the Presbyterian Church USA as Director of Humanitarian and Global Ecumenical Engagement. This work coordinates and supports holistic collaboration among the offices of disaster response, migration accompaniment, hunger and development, peacemaking, and advocacy for the self-development of people (SDOP). Laurie served for ten years as director of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. Laurie is on the board and executive committee of ACT Alliance. She is a certified spiritual director and compassion fatigue/trauma-informed spiritual care provider. She is the author of two books, “Recovering from UnNatural Disaster” and “Tuning My Heart: the Melody of the Liturgical Year in Proclamation, Poetry and Praise.”

    Our first return guest on the Between 2 Pulpits podcast. Edwin González-Castillo is back to share with you how One Great Hour of Sharing helps Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) do great work in our world, nationally and internationally.
    Rev. González-Castillo manages the staff and programs of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, overseeing domestic and international response initiatives. He appreciates the opportunity to serve as the "face" of PDA, interpreting our mission in churches, presbyteries and synods; and teaching, developing curriculum, and writing for various publications. He leads and supports collaborative efforts with neighboring ministry areas within the PC(USA) and among our ecumenical and interfaith partners in disaster response.

    Migration with Susan Krehbiel

    Learn more about migration in today’s episode with special guest Susan Krehbiel.
    Elder Susan Krehbiel is the Associate for Migration Accompaniment Ministries for Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.  She directs PDA’s support to Mid-Councils, local ministries, national and international partners who minister with refugees, asylum seekers and internally displaced persons, and related advocacy. Susan has over 30 years of experience with national NGOs and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Susan also serves part-time with the Presbytery of Baltimore and is a member of Catonsville Presbyterian Church in Maryland.

    OGHS Supports Self-Development of People

    In this episode, we meet with Rev. Dr. Alonzo Johnson to discuss how One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) supports the work of the Committee of the Self Development of People. Be sure to check out the links to the various resources we discuss in this episode se below.
    Rev. Dr. Alonzo T. Johnson is the Coordinator for the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People Program (SDOP) and the Convener for the Education Roundtable, an education working group within the Educate a Child Transform the World Domestic Initiative, both of which are ministries of the Compassion Peace and Justice ministry area of the national Presbyterian Church (USA). Rev. Johnson has 25 years of experience including work in urban ministry, congregational based organizing, youth/education ministries, creative arts, peacemaking, anti-racism, anti-poverty, anti-violence and social justice ministries.
