Silent Medicine with Dr Nnenna Ndika

Dr Nnenna Ndika

Silent Medicine is where science meets spirit for real, sensitive bodies. I’m Dr Nnenna Ndika, a clinical psychologist and integrative medicine healer who has walked through burnout, chronic symptoms, and deep nervous system overwhelm in my own body. In this podcast, I invite you into a quieter way of healing... one that listens to the body, honors the mind, and includes what I call the “inner healer” within. You won’t find hype, quick fixes, or pressure to “optimize” yourself here. Instead, we explore gentle, grounded conversations on the mind–body connection, nervous system care, energy and frequency, environmental wellness, and the deeper questions of consciousness and spirit. Season 1 begins with two opening episodes to welcome you into this space. After that, new episodes are released every other week... at a pace that honors real lives, real responsibilities, and the truth that nothing sustainable can grow from a stressed-out nervous system. If you’ve ever felt “too sensitive” for the modern world, this is your reminder: you are not broken, and your body has been trying to heal you all along.

Episode 5: Movement That Doesn’t Betray Your Body

What if the goal isn’t to push harder… but to move in a way that rebuilds trust—trust between your nervous system and your body? In this episode of the Silent Medicine Podcast, Dr. Nnenna Ndika explores a gentler, more honest approach to movement, especially for sensitive systems that feel worse when they follow the “standard” fitness script. If you’ve ever thought:  “Every time I move the way I’m told I should, I feel worse... not better…”  My friend, that’s not failure. That’s feedback. This question is one of the roots of why I incorporate physical and functional movement into the Mind-Body Rebalance Method (MBRM) coaching program—because trust is part of healing. In this episode, we explore: Why “push harder” can backfire for certain nervous systemsThe difference between movement that braces you vs. movement that restores youHow to use your body’s signals as guidance (not as a verdict)A short, calming reset to help your body feel: “I can move… and still be safe.” If this episode helped you feel less confused or overwhelmed, consider sharing it with someone whose body has been carrying a lot in silence, and join the Silent Medicine Newsletter to stay close during the quiet pause between episodes/seasons. Episode 4: It’s Not the Crystal. It’s the State | Nervous System Calm

Start here (free 10-minute guided meditation + podcast) → https://silentmedicine.com/start In this quiet reflection, I share why it often isn’t the object itself (a crystal, a tool, a ritual)… it’s the state you repeatedly pair with it. The object can be a cue. The state is what your nervous system learns. Micro-practice (30–45 seconds): Hold the object. Inhale 4, pause 1, exhale 6 — three rounds. Name the state you’re entering: steady / open / clear.   Let your body memorize that. I’d love to connect with you. Episode 2: When Dairy Changes and the Body Says “NO.”

Note: Recorded in a hospital setting. My voice is softer and a bit coarser today, with light background ambience.  When dairy changes and your body reacts with bloating, congestion, brain fog, or heaviness… it isn’t punishment. It’s information. In this short, gentle reflection, we practice listening to signals without judgment, fear, or shame. Instead, we practice responding with trust in the innate wisdom within... choosing steadiness instead of force or betrayal. Episode 1: How Silent Medicine Begins in the Body

In Episode 1, we begin the real work of Silent Medicine: learning to listen to the body as a source of wisdom, not just a problem to fix. I explore how symptoms, fatigue, and “strange” sensations can be messages rather than failures, and what it means to relate to your body with curiosity instead of frustration. We talk about the difference between chasing diagnoses and gently asking, “What is my system trying to say?” You’ll also hear some of my reflections from my own healing path and why nervous-system safety is the ground everything else needs. This episode is for you if you’ve tried doing “all the things” and still sense that healing has to begin somewhere deeper and quieter than another protocol. I'd love to read from you.
