A New Great Podcast

Let me start by saying that I heard about this podcast through another gaming podcast, Fear the Boot. With so many different gaming podcasts coming and going, it's hard to keep up with them.

Gaming Asylum follows the fairly formulaic setup of a group of guys discussing gaming topics ranging from table top to video games. Unlike some other gaming podcasts, though, their personalities seem to mesh together pretty well. All three hosts generally have something insightful to say and do not really try to talk over each other. Mark, Jeff, and Michael also appear to be genuinely passionate about gaming. I found nodding in agreement with some of their statements, but also yelling at them for their opinions in other places.

The main reason why this received four stars instead of five is the quality of the recording. While there are a few seconds of dead air, I can only assume this has to do with their process in recording episodes. It's nothing a little editing cannot fix. The audio quality of the show isn't exactly the best, but it is most definitely not the worst. Most podcasts take a while to perfect their audio quality, so this isn't something I'm too worried about this early in their show.

As long as this show puts out regular content and strives to increase the quality of the recordings, I will definitely continue to listen to it.
