HH#509: Embracing God's Truth with Louie Giglio
Today’s guest is Louie Giglio - Pastor of Passion City Church, and Founder of the Passion movement. Every time I get to talk to him, it is a big circle moment for me. Louie's ministry is a huge part of my story of how I encountered Jesus. His ministry has changed so many lives over the years, and in this episode we get the honor to hear about Louie’s story and what his first “Encounter” with Jesus was like.
HH#508: The Lonely Jesus with Bonnie Gray
HH#507 Finding Jesus After a Cult with Ex- Jehovah's Witness Phaedra Taylor
As we continue with our “Encounter” series, today you will get to meet our guest Phaedra Taylor. She is kind, and a very talented artist located in Austin, TX. I could talk to her for hours. Her story is so incredible and so powerful. Phaedra was raised in a cult as a Jehovah's Witness. For years she lived an oppressed and controlled life, and that was the only way she knew how to live it. Until one day, when her life was completely falling apart, she had an encounter with Jesus. This encounter was a fruit of prayers and intentionality from Christian friends she met in college.
HH#506: Encounter - From Porn to Pastor with Joshua Broome
Our new series “Encounter” is all about how Jesus can change lives. Today’s guest is Pastor Joshua Broome, and his story reminds us that no one is too far gone from the Love of God. After years of pursuing different ways to find self validation, Joshua found himself deep into the adult movie industry, living a life of shame and isolation. Until one day, a complete stranger asked him a question that made him drop everything and run towards change.
HH #505 Love Your Neighbor as Yourself with Derwin Gray
Today’s conversation is with Pastor Derwin Gray, and we are talking about what it truly means to love your neighbor as yourself. Not just the ones who are part of our everyday lives, but also those whom we may disagree with, those who look different than us, and those whom we may not know (or may never come to know). This conversation is rich in knowledge, and filled with SCRIPTURE and PRACTICAL ways that we can love our neighbors everywhere, all around the world. There is so much opportunity to self reflect and to learn as you listen. I hope you enjoy this conversation and that it helps you to love God and your neighbors more.
First Podcast I Ever Listened To!
Jamie has been a voice in my ear since 2015 and I am so thankful for her encouragement, insight, love for Jesus, and her commitment to growth. Keep it up!
Love this Podcast!
I love putting this podcast on to tune in to all the guests Jamie talks with. I love that she has such an amazing range of topics covered that is so fun to listen to. I never get bored and I am always fully tuned in to ALL the conversations. I’ve saved a few of my favorites and go back to them all the time! I found this podcasts years ago. Now that I’m a mom, I’m SO GLAD I tuned into so many podcasts that at the time were about raising babies, journeying through motherhood, etc. While it didn’t apply to me then, I remember those conversations and now go back to them and listen again. Fit this podcast into your week, because there are so many amazing conversations you will not want to miss.
The show has changed
Happy Hour used to be my favorite podcast. I have sent countless episodes to friends and family because I have loved the messages and think they are so helpful. Lately it has changed. The content quality has gone down and now there is a lot of ads and plugs taking up the time. I listened to the newest episode with Louie Giglio today and the first 10 minutes was all ads and plugs before you ever heard him. I understand you have to make money and I suppose you, but it shouldn’t be at the cost of the quality listening content we are here for. Maybe the eggs are in too many baskets now. I will continue to love and listen, but I hope the honest feedback is helpful.
