    Scatterbrained Mom or ADHD?

    Scatterbrained Mom or ADHD?

As moms we will often just excuse our lack of focus or being a bit scatterbrained on our kids or the fact that we always have so much going on. But what if it is actually something more? What if, like me, you are struggling with adult ADHD? I discovered that even though my kids are older and don't require so much of my focus that I STILL was struggling to get things done and it was becoming a huge problem. So I decided to ask my doctor if there might be something else going on.

    Why Do We Feel Guilty?

    Why Do We Feel Guilty?

As moms we often will stop doing the things we want to do for ourselves or NEED to do for ourselves. Why? Sometimes it is because we think we will be judged or made to feel like we are bad moms. Too often we allow those feelings to keep us from doing the things that we want to do or that would make us happy.

It's My Birthday!!! Why Did I Wait Until My 40s To Decide to Be Happy?

It's My Birthday!!! Why Did I Wait Until My 40s To Decide to Be Happy?

Today is my birthday!!! Christmas in July is how my kids remember it. I turned 45 today. And after 45 years I have gotten to a point where I am so happy with the person I am and am doing all the things that I want to do. I am doing things to make myself happy. I wasted a lot of years saying no to things that I wanted to do and I realize how much I missed out on by letting fear and worry keep me from. So I won't do that anymore. I do the things.

Giving Your Kids a Safe Space

Giving Your Kids a Safe Space

Recently a friend of mine had a young man come to her after running away because he felt safe at her home. Coming from a home life that had been in turmoil for so long this young man told my friend that he would rather die than keep feeling the way he was feeling.
Too often we don't realize that our children are dealing with a lot of problems and they don't always feel like they can come to us. Which is why it is so important to make sure that they feel like they have a safe space to express when they aren't doing ok. If it can't be with you then helping them find someone who they can go to. We can't ignore the fact that they struggle just like we do sometimes.

Going Through a Rollercoaster of Emotions

Going Through a Rollercoaster of Emotions

I took off last week from posting an episode because I was vacationing in Hawaii! For the first time in 21 years I was able to take a kid free vacation only to come home and be faced with having to make the hard decision to put our 14 year old dog Shiloh to sleep. After so many amazing years with our family, she was in pain and we couldn't be selfish and keep her with us.

So during the summer we have to get creative at times to give our kids a fun vacation. I came across an article that SEEMED like a great idea until I dove into it and let's just say their ideas were not that great!

Able to relate on many levels.

When you said a different kind of tired I heard you. As a solo parent of 2 boys and one with special needs, it was a struggle after my husband passed last year. Truly a blessing to found this podcast.

Not an incubator?

Grow up. It’s not the child’s fault that a woman doesn’t use birth control, birth control and condoms, refrains completely, etc. Take responsibility for your actions. As a mother…not religious, not alt right…I find it super troublesome that you have a podcast about mothering, but are ok with women killing babies inside them, simply because they don’t want it. I hope you don’t have the same disdain for your own children. Smh.

Not knowledgeable

I am all for freedom of speech and everyone entitled to their own opinion but I will have to give 1 star in regards to her commenting on how the unvaccinated are a potentional risk to her and her kids and that it affects her so ya ---she has an opinion about it. What a bold statement to say- isn't the vaccine for the hopes to protect others not ourselves? Catch 22. You do not have the right to comment so casually about whether or not you think someone should or should not get the vaccine injected in their body. #1 that is confidential information and a violation of HIPPA #2 you are giving out medical advice and you're clearly not a doctor so to give out advice like you're less likely to die if you get the vaccine is absolutely unprofessional and unethical-- as if you did you research you will see the adverse cases from the vaccine and just how many have dropped dead after their dose of vaccine yet still are categorized under a "covid" death. Do you know everyone's medical history? Do you kno the exact ingredients of the vaccine? Do you know what spike proteins are? Do you even do your own research aside from Google before you post these life changing opinions that no one asked for? Or are you one of those sheeple who doesn't question what they're told......well in all actuality you are the road block to unity. Wake up you sleeper
